The First Ten Focus Group Feedback for Live Your Life of Abundance
Because Live Your Life of Abundance was Book of the Day, some of our most trusted members have carefully looked over the cover, the description, and other aspects of this book as a part of purchase-intent focus group. We then asked each participant in the focus group if they planned to buy and read the book, and why they planned to buy and read the book or not. Their answer to that question and reasons are displayed below. We call this awesome feature The First Ten Focus Group.
Keep in mind, the responses from the members are not reviews. This is purchase-intent focus group which means the participants are people who have NOT yet bought or read your book. A purchase-intent focus group is an important and extremely useful marketing tool for any product, not just books. For other products, you might walk on the street and show people an item in a package and poll them about whether they would buy if or $X or not. These kind of focus groups are one of the ways big marketing companies find the ideal price points for products and test the effectiveness of different packaging. The focus group can help you identify your market so you how to target ads of your book, and it can (but may not) provide you new useful info about your "packaging" (e.g. your book cover, your book synopsis on Amazon, etc.). The point of the focus group comments is to give you information from people who have not bought or read your book about why they plan to buy your book which will help you in marketing the book. These are not reviews or critiques of your book because they are not from people have read the book. This is a marketing tool, not reviews. The trick of book marketing and book advertising is that you have to convince people who have not read your book yet that your book is worth buying and reading. For marketing, it doesn't matter much if people love your book after reading it if you cannot convince potential buyers before they read it that they will love it.
IMPORTANT: Any score over 10% is considered very good. And any score above 0% is acceptable. This is because we only poll about 20 or so readers, and all readers have to say "no" to almost all books. Over a million books are published each year. Even a very active reader cannot come close to even reading 1% of books out there.
This is also why publishing books is such a tough industry.

The self-help book encapsulates the directions to live a more intentional life and keep negative thoughts and procrastination away to find fulfillment. The author stresses all the things we should be doing to identify our goals and find abundance in the life we have. I wouldn't have read the book based on its genre because I wasn't planning on reading any self-help books right now. While sampling, I liked the author's motivating tone quite a bit, and I often noticed that she quoted different personalities and books as well as personal life anecdotes to support her writing. The thing I like the most, though, is that the narrative isn't just theoretical knowledge, but there are also actionable suggestions for the readers. I believe this book can also strike a chord with religious as well as spiritual people, as the author often makes references to God and the chapters begin with religious verses. The narrative is segmented into subtopics, giving it a clear and defined structure. The lack of errors in the sampled portion suggests the book is professionally edited, so I would rate it as such. I cannot find anything worthy of mention for improvements in the sampled portion. The book is useful and offers straightforward guidance with bulleted lists. However, I do not plan on reading the whole book because I haven't been able to relate to it so far. In addition to that, the genre is not among my favorites. I saw a useful official OBC review, but that didn't really affect my final decision.

Following my going over the book’s Amazon page and official OnlineBookClub review, I decided to purchase the title. I am interested in learning how I can emotionalize my goals to achieve my dreams, keep procrastination from sabotaging my purpose, and create a future with financial freedom. Poring over its Amazon sample did not make me want to change my mind. I would purchase it because the Amazon sample convinced me I would enjoy reading the rest of the book. The first ten pages contain a prelude, Chapter 1: Live Your Life in the Wilderness, and a few pages of Chapter 2: Live Your Life with Passion. My favorite part is when the author said that journaling is an “excellent enhancement” to one’s current reality. I did not observe any errors in the text. I believe the book is professionally edited. I have nothing to suggest to the author.

If I hadn't been a part of this program, I still would've sampled this book for its title and genre, as I'm interested in self-help books and the information they provide. After reading the first ten pages, I would love to finish it because it seems to contain a lot of useful information and the author's writing style is interesting. There were no errors in the book. I loved the direct approach to the subject and the author's explanation skills. There was nothing I disliked about this book. The OBC review provided me with information about the subject and encouraged me to read it.

I didn't like the cover; the design is just a blob of many colors. Due to the cover, I would not have been interested in reading this book outside the program. I will not buy it; the author does not have a clear goal. The author tries to cover many topics, but she falls short. It isn't very pleasant when you see a book that offers many teachings, but it is only the experience of the author. There are no errors in the first ten pages. There was nothing I liked. I wouldn't say I liked that the author mentioned that we can achieve everything we want; it is not to be negative, but the reality of the world is different. The official review on OBC did not help me decide.

Had I not been a part of this program, despite the OBC review and other published reviews, I would not have read this book because of the genre. I found no errors in the first ten pages. The author talks about how she yearns for the reader to utilize their full potential. She urges us to be more receptive and willing. I loved the gentle and encouraging tone of the book. I had no suggestions for improvement. However, based on my genre preferences, I would not read the whole book.

The description, title, genre, and book cover are clear about the book. If I were not part of this program, I wouldn't have sampled this book because it promises to teach a concept that I am already familiar with, and I don't want to know more about it. After reading the first ten pages, I have decided not to continue reading this book as it talks about the concept of living life in abundance. I am already familiar with this concept as I have read about it in other books, so there is no reason for me to continue reading this book. I liked the definition of the word "Prelude" at the start of the book as it shows that the information in the book is important. I have nothing to dislike about this part; it is well edited with no errors. The OBC review is detailed, though I have not relied on it to make my decision.

This book’s cover and title hinted towards a self-help book, and the book’s Amazon page with its blurb and customer reviews confirmed that. Based on these, I wouldn’t have sampled this book without the First Ten program; I read self-help books only rarely. The sample pages introduced the method the author had created; she called it "grasp," and it was meant to help readers find their goals and purpose in life. I liked the colorful cover of this book; it’s probably going to look appealing to the targeted reader group (women). I liked that the author seemed to base her teachings on the Bible. However, I wasn’t very excited about the content of this book. There are several self-help books out there that aim to find purpose in life, and after reading the sample pages, I didn’t see how this book would bring anything new or revolutionary to this topic. After reading the sample pages, I am not planning to buy this book. I found an Official OnlineBookClub review of this book, and the reviewer seemed genuinely interested in the book’s message. If I was looking for something like this to read, stumbling upon this review would have definitely been helpful, but now I had already formed my opinion. The review didn’t change my mind. I didn’t see any obvious grammatical errors in the part I read. Therefore, I believe this book has been professionally edited.

Anybody who knows me will say that I am addicted to self-help books. Even if I was not in this program I would have bought this book. The cover and title drew me in because I'm in a transitional period in my life and I need guidance. The OBC official review provided me with a well-written analysis of what I will expect while reading. I am excited to read this book. Within the first ten pages, something stood out to me that the author discussed. She talked about feeling unworthy and depressed because she did not reach other's people of success that they projected on her. I have been there and it took me a long time to let other people ideas about my life go. I found no errors or anything I disliked in this book. I am going to finish reading this book because the messages are important to my life.

I would not have sampled this book based on the genre, blurb, OBC review, cover, title, editorial reviews, or customer reviews. I don’t usually read self-help books, and this one about setting life goals and being the person you are intended to be didn’t interest me. After reading the first ten pages, I won’t be finishing this book. I liked the way the author incorporated different activities such as the focus change experiment. I didn’t like that the book already had a religious undertone to it by including Bible verses. I think this really narrows the audience. I also didn’t think this book would help me. I don’t feel that I am at a point in life where I need to reevaluate my goals to be satisfied. There wasn’t anything specific that needs improvement. The book did seem to be professionally edited; there weren’t any errors in the first ten pages.

What I love about this book is that it is a Christian-themed novel, and being a christian, I definently want to read this book. After reading the first few pages,I love how the author has clearly described their purpose in writing the book, which is to equip the reader with the necessary skills to achieve their goals and be willing to accept transformation. This had solidified my reason to want to read the whole book. Had I not been part of the program, I would have still read the book because of the editorial reviews I read as well as the interesting book cover and title. The OBC reviews were enlightening and quite detailed about the book, which was helpful in making a decision to read the whole book.

I was not initially intrigued by the cover or title of “Live Your Life of Abundance.” These details indicated a non-fiction self-help genre, which I do not enjoy. The blurb confirms the genre and, together with the OBC review, discusses some strategies for living intentionally, including journaling, which I do every day! I am intrigued by this inclusion, and I would like to learn more about the author’s methods.
I found no errors in the sample pages. I was immediately comforted by the beginning passages, as the author tells readers their desire to help them become who God wants them to be. I know some may not like this, but I appreciate this perspective. I also sincerely resonate with the need to let others help, that you cannot always do everything yourself to achieve your best self. I am currently not in the market for a self-help book, so I will not purchase this book. However, because I found nothing to dislike and I enjoyed the concepts outlined in the sample, I will keep this book in mind when I am looking for a book in this genre. I have no recommendations for the author.

The title and cover are in keeping with the self-help genre, so I think they should attract many interested readers. The blurb highlights the author shares how she discovered the key aspects to lead an abundant life. The customer reviews are favorable. The official OnlineBookClub review stresses the author's advice to keep a journal to help clarify interests, likes, and dislikes and thus identify and accomplish goals. As a whole, I like self-help books. Based on the aspects above, I am prone to try this book. The first ten pages generated the expectation of how, following the book's suggestions, one can identify the purpose in life. The author used herself as an example, which I found inspiring; if she did, others can too. What happened to her about self-sabotaging unconsciously can happen to other people without them noticing. One of the statements that captured my attention the most is not associating abundance only with money. Abundance relates to every area of life, like joy, influence, opportunities, blessing, love, grace, friendship, kindness, and happiness, among others. What I read motivated me to keep a journal to identify a purpose and see if I have to make a drastic change in life. The editing looked adequate since I didn't see any details to comment on. Overall, I didn't see anything that I believed could be improved. What I read was inspiring and left me curious to do the exercises and identify a purpose and a passion in life. Therefore, I will read the rest of the book.

"Live Your Life of Abundance" by Margo Spilde is an inspiring self-help book. The cover is attractive and made me curious about its content. Although the title fits the book's contents perfectly, it didn't pique my interest. The blurb gave a good overview of the book's subject. Since I'm not interested in this genre, I wouldn't have sampled the book. However, the OBC review piqued my interest when it mentioned the techniques the author advised to make the readers realize their interests and goals in life. It made me curious and would have made me sample the book. I liked how the author's writing style is simple and soothing; it reminds me of a mother talking to her children to boost their self-confidence. There was nothing to dislike about the book. I also found a single error at the end of the second paragraph in the Prelude. "You are also looking for what you need, where you might find it, and who could supply that you need." It should be: "You are also looking for what you need, where you might find it, and who could supply (what) you need." After reading the sample, I still wouldn't buy the book, as it didn't intrigue me.

The colorfulness of the cover was attractive, as was the title with its bold letters. I would have selected the book outside of this programme. The author opens the book with a prelude. In it, the author states that the book is about helping the reader find themselves in whatever they do in their lives. The author states that it is not about reading the right book but discovering yourself. I liked how the book opened with a prelude that explained everything one needed to know before diving in. There’s nothing I dislike about it. I will not be reading the book because I don’t like motivational books. The official OBC review was helpful in making my decision. I didn’t see any errors, proving that it was exceptionally edited.

I liked the eye-opening message that a pine tree does not play the role of the rabbits. I learned that this book teaches us to be who we are and not what others expect from us. Though this sample was enlightening to me, I will not buy and read this book because several long sentences made it harder for me to understand all the messages. My suggestion to the author is to consider going for shorter sentences. I learned that this book needs a round of professional editing because I found several grammatical errors in the sample. For example, the sentence, "The definition of abundance is a large quantity of something, the state or condition of having a copious quantity of something, or plentifulness of the good things in life." This sentence could have been as follows. "The definition of abundance is a large quantity of something, the state or condition of having a copious quantity of something, or the plentifulness of the good things in life." I found a few customer and editorial reviews that said good things about this book. I got all the necessary insights into this book from the OBC official review. I would not have read the sample outside of The First Ten program because the cover, title, and genre influenced me only slightly.

I was intrigued by the official OBC review of this book because it included journaling advice. I would have wanted to read the book if I weren't enrolled in this program because the description gave me a glimpse of what it would be like to be my best self. In the sample, the author exhorts readers to live authentically since the payoff will be worthwhile. That upbeat outlook was appealing. However, I thought several of the ideas offered weren't well developed enough. They were just a little too hazy, which made me lose interest. I won't read the rest of the book as a result of this. I didn't notice any errors when reading.

This book has the look and feel of an 80s televangelist. Neither the blurb nor the OBC review mentions religion, but the prelude starts off mentioning God, and there is a Bible verse at the start of chapter one. In the table of contents, chapter 12 has a list of religions. I like the idea suggested in this book of journaling, but I am not disciplined enough to keep up with it. I did not see any errors in the pages that I read. I am not going to finish reading the book because I am not in need of a self-help book. I suggest that readers be made aware of the religious content before purchasing the book.

As I am not interested in reading non-fiction books, I would not have read the book based on the genre, cover, blurb, and title. Consequently, I did not change my mind after sampling the book and reading the OBC review. However, I found nothing to dislike as I read the first ten pages. In writing this book, the author wants to help you live your life to the fullest. She especially encourages you to find and pursue your passion and become what you are meant to be. I liked the author's persuasive writing style and conversational tone as she highlighted how important it is to learn from your past mistakes and to never give up when you fail. I only noticed two errors that did not distract me from my reading. For example, it should be "who could be supplying what you need" in the following sentence: "You are also looking for what you need, where you might find it, and who could be supplying that you need." (Page 12) Considering the numerous positive customer reviews and editorial reviews, anyone who needs encouragement in life will find this book thought-provoking. Nothing needs to be improved.

If I hadn't been a part of this program, I would have still read the sample pages of the book. The book’s topic and cover are delightful. After reading the first ten pages, I decided that I would buy the book and finish reading it. I find reading this book to be very therapeutic. My interest in the book increased. The text is professionally edited. I appreciate the use of the scriptures by the author, as one can feel the life-giving flow of God. I would recommend this book to readers without hesitation. There's nothing I dislike. The OBC review helped me make my decision.

Live your Life of Abundance by Margo Spilde basically gives the reader a template for attaining their goals in a structured way. I am not a fan of self-help books and even though this one seems somewhat different from others, I still do not think that I will read it. I like how the author lays out the plan for goal attainment and I think anyone who does read the book will benefit from its simplicity and straightforward presentation. I also liked how the author integrates stories which can inspire the reader. I did not come across any errors or mistakes in the bit that I read and hopefully this is the same for the whole book. I do not think I would normally have sampled the book if I was not part of the First Ten program. The OBC official review also did not exactly endear me to it. It came across as somewhat generic to most self-help books. I would not decisively put this one on my to read list. This is mainly because I do not subscribe to the genre. It does have some positive aspects to it, like how the author explains what one needs to know in order to understand who they are and what they want from life. This makes me think that there might be something more to the book that other self-help books lack. All the same I won't be reading this one.

The book makes a decent first impression with its attractive cover design, straightforward title, detailed description, and multiple customer and OBC reviews. Since it is a self-help book, I was reluctant to read the sample. The OBC review spoke about destiny, which piqued my interest. That said, I loved the simple writing style of the author. There were some minor grammatical errors, but nothing that would affect my reading experience (You are also looking for what you need, where you might find it, {remove comma} and who could be supplying that you need.). Sadly, since the book was not available for purchase on Amazon in India, I won't be able to buy and read it. I have no suggestions because had the book been available, I would have enjoyed reading it.

The title is remarkably fitting for its colorful cover. I love it! The genre is my number-one favorite. The blurb enumerates the benefits you can gain from the book, like finding better direction, desire, discipline, and a lot more. I've seen editorial reviews from successful people on Amazon, and the OBC review, which is one of the best editorial reviews, greatly discussed the positive aspects of the book. For example, throughout the book, you will identify your goals and plan them out; you will be taught journaling; and you will gain financial advice as well as practical advice to live your life in abundance. While I've seen six Amazon customer reviews, half of them are just mere appreciation, but gladly, the other half talks a little bit about the book. The limited customer reviews didn't affect my interest in the book, so I'm going to finish reading it. The aforementioned positive aspects merit my full appreciation of the book; therefore, it will be worthwhile to read it. I sampled a few pages, and I am convinced that the book is for me. I am so grateful to Margo Spilde for giving the book away for free. Likewise, I love her book already! The first ten pages are error-free. What I like about the book is its practical guide to living abundantly. I love the motivational aspect of the book. Most of the author's advice is impactful to me. For instance, she says, "Abundance relates to every area of your life. You can have an abundance of joy, influence, opportunities, blessings, love, grace, friendship, kindness, and anything else that you desire." It's so relatable. I love it. I know that the author advocates for readers to live their best lives. The book has no negatives. I was captivated by its powerful message. I believe there's nothing to enhance about the book because it's already a success. Yes, the OBC review was amazingly written, pinpointing all the good aspects of the book and how kindly the author shared her ideas with us. I can't wait to finish reading this remarkable book. Congratulations, Margo Spilde, on this big achievement.

If it wasn't for the First Ten program, I wouldn't sample this book based on its title, cover, genre, blurb, OnlineBookClub review, or other reviews simply because I don't normally enjoy self-help books. After reading the first ten pages, I will not continue reading the book because I don't think I need help when it comes to achieving certain goals. From what I read, my favorite part was learning a bit about the author's own career journey because I've always thought it was important for author's of self-help books to share their stories. I didn't find any errors in the text, and I can't think of any way to improve the book.

I really like the cover and, specifically, the title of this book. I would definitely pick this up in a store or click on it online. I would not have known about this book if not for OBC. The OBC review is very thorough and confirms for me that I would really like and benefit from reading this book. I find that so many self-help books are the same. This one is refreshingly different. I love books that have practical exercises that are ready to be completed. Journaling is an important part of my life. I enjoyed the first 10 pages and actually ended up reading much more. I found no grammatical errors, so it looks to have been professionally edited. There was nothing that I disliked or would improve upon. I thank the author for the free book. I will definitely read this one. Thanks!

If I were not in the programme I would not have read this book as I don't tend to go for non-fiction/self-help type books. I do like the splash of colour on the white background for the cover though.
On reading, I disliked the author's style and tone. I felt like I was being lectured at. The author also commented that they ‘used to think that I could change my whole world by reading the right book or learning the right skills. Now I understand why I couldn't transform myself’. This automatically made me think why is your book any different then and why should I read it? I also found an error: ‘You are also looking for what you need, where you might find it, and who could be supplying that you need.‘ This should be either ‘what you need’ or ‘supplying you that need’.
The OBC review is helpful in describing the style of the book. I found the description of the breadth of topics interesting, however not enough to convince me to continue reading the book.

The book's intriguing title and attractive cover are the two factors that would influence my decision to read it. I read the blurb, editor reviews, customer reviews, and the Official OnlineBookClub review, but none of them had any influence on my decision. I'll read the book because I want to find out more about how to become more focused and clear-headed. The book appears to have been carefully edited because I only discovered one possible typo while reading it (the complete editor review by Gretchen Cliburn in the book isn't marked with quotation marks whereas others are). I appreciate how it is stated that to enhance one's life, one needs to adopt two attitudes. Nothing in the book, in my opinion, needs to be improved.

"Live Your Life of Abundance" is a non-fiction book by Margo Spilde. The author aims to help us find our own place in life. I like the clear language. Also, I like the way each chapter starts off with a biblical quotation. I did not find any errors. I would not change anything about the book. The OBC review and the reviews on Amazon are helpful. I would have skipped this book based on the cover, title, genre, blurb, editorial reviews, and customer reviews as I am not in the mood to read books of this genre as of now. For the same reason, I have decided to skip this book after reading the first ten pages.

I knew I wouldn’t be interested in this book from the title, cover, description, genre, customer reviews, and the official OnlineBookClub review. I don’t read nonfiction, so I’ll not buy and read it. I also didn’t particularly like anything about this book; it didn’t provide any new information and was basically the same as other self-help books. However, the author is correct when she says that it is important to find your purpose and not do what everybody else thinks you should do. This book seems professionally edited because I didn’t notice any errors from the first few pages I read. I don’t think anything needs to be improved.

Back in the day, I would have taken a close look at this book based on the beautiful cover. But the Official OBC Review, although positive, isn't enough to make me want to read this book. I'm turning 67 years old, have achieved my goals, and don't really have any need for a self-help book of this nature. Also, the concept of journalizing as described in the Review, is not unknown to me. I didn't read any other reviews or blurbs. After reading the first ten pages, I will not continue as per the reason stated above. What I liked is that the author shares her concepts for success based on her own experience and education, not simply on gathering ideas from multiple other sources to make them seem like her own. I also liked the suggestions scattered throughout to lead to one's betterment, such as Focus Change Experiment on page 22. What I didn't care for was the underlying religious theme. I believe the book was professionally edited as I found no errors. And I have no suggestions for improvement.

If Live Your Life of Abundance hadn't been the OnlineBookClub's book of the day, I would have read it anyway because of the description on Amazon.com. I like reading self-help books, which is why I knew I would want to sample it. There are some customer reviews, but these reviews did not affect my decision. I like that this book has a focus on God; Christian self-help books are some of my favorite books. The emphasis on using a journal was helpful as well. I found no grammatical errors in the sample, and there is nothing I can think of that needs improvement or that I dislike. An official OnlineBookClub review exists for this title, but I already knew I wanted to finish reading this book before I read the review because of my preference for Christian self-help books.

But for the First Ten, I would not have sampled or read this book because its cover, title, genre, blurb, and editorial and customer reviews suggest that it is a self-help book and not my preferred genre of crime fiction. Sampling the first ten pages, I liked the author’s relatable and inspirational writing style. I did not find errors and have no suggestions for improvement. After reading the first ten pages, I will not buy and read the whole book because I prefer to read fiction to relax and unwind, and this book is a serious read. The OBC review was very informative and positive but it did not impact my decision whether to read this book.

I knew as soon as I saw the title and read the blurb that I wouldn't sample this book if I were not part of this program. I don't like these kinds of books. Reading the first ten pages confirmed my feelings. The things I disliked in this book are the things I generally dislike about this genre of self-help books. It's too self-focused for me. And telling people that they deserve a life of abundance because it's what God intends for them? No thanks. This book is not for me, and the OBC review, well-written though it was, did not influence my position. I think the book was well edited; I only found one minor thing: <You are also looking for what you need, where you might find it, and who could be supplying that you need.> (P12) Either change "that" to "what" or omit "you".

The cover is beautiful and I find it interesting. I will continue reading this book because I found the first pages helpful. I didn't find any errors. I liked how it is goal-oriented. Much of the advice is practical, specific, and helpful. The book stresses on journaling and that was a great addition. There is nothing I didn't like about this book. The OBC review helped me make my decision as well.

The book cover is exquisite, and the title is attractive. The blurb was interesting, and I was immediately curious to read more. There were several positive Amazon customer comments. The official OBC review was well-written and engaging. I was incredibly inspired and motivated after reading the sample pages. I loved the author's writing skills, and I feel readers would benefit tremendously from what the author has offered through this book. I especially liked the 'Focus Change Experiment' suggested by the author. It will make a world of difference to many who want to live a life of abundance. I treasure a good self-help book, and this one sure does sound like a great one. So, I will buy this book. There was nothing to dislike, and I found no errors in the first ten pages.

Both the editing and customer reviews of this book were very good, but I won't be finishing it because it is a self-help book. I did like that the author used real-life examples, just like the OBC reviewer said. I didn't like, though, that she said, right after telling how she changed things for herself, that the reader deserves success. No one DESERVES it. Neither the cover nor the title really hooked me. I didn't find any errors, and I can't suggest any changes.

The cover, title, and blurb all indicate that it is a self-help book. Customer feedback has been positive. I rarely read this genre, so I will pass on it outside of the program. My opinion was not changed by sampling. I appreciated the fact that there are themes that promote financial literacy. However, the book is not for me, so I will pass. I have no recommendations for improvement. Here's an example of an editing issue.

Regardless of the beautiful cover, title, blurb, customer reviews, editorial reviews, and the OnlineBookClub review, I would have skipped over this book because I do not enjoy reading self-help books. Reading the first ten pages did not change my mind. I only liked the Focus Change Experiment in those pages. The core value of abundance, “Be More. Do More. Achieve More,” is a common cliche in many books of this type and one I have seen in many workshops during my career. The author's need to define common words and phrases like “prelude” and “life purpose” made me feel like the author thought I was illiterate. The first ten pages were negative and made me feel like only losers needed to read the book. I recommend that the author use a more unique and upbeat style in writing her book. Another round of editing may be necessary for this book as I found an error on Page 12: “You are also looking for what you need, where you might find it, and who could be supplying that you need.” It should be “You are also looking for what you need, where you might find it, and who could be supplying what you need.” I will not finish reading this book’s free copy because I do not like the topic or the author’s insulting writing style. However, I do believe this book would be beneficial to anyone who is struggling to find their path in life.

As someone who had the opportunity to sample the first ten pages of "Live Your Life of Abundance" by Margo Spilde, I am compelled to share my initial impressions. Prior to being part of this program, I may not have been immediately drawn to this book based solely on its cover or title. However, upon delving into the first few pages, I discovered a captivating blend of wisdom and inspiration that caught my attention. After immersing myself in the opening chapters, I am genuinely inclined to read the entire book. The author's writing style immediately resonated with me, as it exuded a sense of authenticity and sincerity. I am also genuinely curious to see how she has applied what she has learned to her own life. In terms of errors, I did not encounter any noteworthy flaws or inconsistencies in the first ten pages. The writing appeared polished and well-edited, allowing for a smooth and immersive reading experience. One aspect I particularly enjoyed about the portion I read is the author's ability to seamlessly blend personal anecdotes with practical advice. This combination not only enhances the relatability of the content but also empowers readers to envision how they can apply the principles shared in their own lives. There was one excerpt that resonated with me from the early pages: "In the face of challenges, it is our perspective that holds the power to shape our reality. By cultivating a mindset of abundance and gratitude, we can unlock the limitless potential within ourselves and attract positive experiences into our lives." So far, the book seems to be well-written, as I have found nothing to dislike or in need of improvement. These are my thoughts; I did not seek any reviews (OBC or otherwise) in making an opinion about this book.

The colors on the cover are gorgeous. The bullet points work well in the blurb, but the topics feel vague. That's what often bothers me about self-help books. "Abundance" could mean anything, or it could mean completely different things for the author and the readers. The ratings are mostly high, but I wouldn't have bought the book based on my first impressions.
The first ten pages convinced me this was not a book for me.
The author stretches some platitudes in a way that makes them untrue. For example, "You can be everything you want to be." It's a lovely sentiment, but just not true. Some other clichés are true but would need further explanation (e.g., "It takes a village of people to reach your fullest potential.") The anecdote about the author's contractor job was left unfinished. Also, some statements feel arrogant. For example, "Know that I believe in you." That's hardly comforting for someone who doesn't know the author, and it comes across as full of self-importance. The concept I did find original comes from author Brené Brown. On the plus side, I didn't find editing mistakes. My main suggestion is that a more gender-neutral cover would appeal to a broader audience.

It was really a pleasure to read the first 10 (and more, to be honest) pages of this book. I especially liked the fact that it was written by a woman and is aimed at women. The author says so quite openly on the very first pages. I also liked how Spilde goes out of her way to help everyone achieve what they want in life. You can clearly feel that it's close to her heart. The book is written in a way that makes you want to keep reading, which is very appealing. I haven't found anything I didn't like so far, and there were no errors in the first 10/15 pages. The cover is also very pretty, with that splash of color that would definitely catch my attention in a bookstore. This excerpt was very helpful in making me want to read this book!

Total ~ 30%
Live Your Life of Abundance earned a score of 30%.
In other words, out of the top-level reviewers who read at least the first 10 pages of this book, 30% plan to read the whole book.
IMPORTANT: Any score over 10% is considered very good. And any score above 0% is acceptable.
Over a million books are published each year. Any given person could not even read .0001% of the books out there. This means readers have to be very selective. Even taking the time to look over reviews and blurbs, let alone read samples, is more time than most readers can afford for most books. The First Ten is a powerful focus group that addresses those issues. It creates a helpful tool for authors, publishers, and other readers.
