I have a number of ways to choose my next book. If I read an interesting review of a book, then that tempts me to read it. Or if a friend recommends one, then I'll take that onboard. However, many of my best finds come from thrift and charity shop buys. I reckon that if a book is cheap enough, then I'll take a chance on it even if I've never heard of the author before.

I don't read all genre. I only love Nonfiction books, so I pick nonfiction books always. But, sometimes I do pick historical fiction.

Usually, when it comes to history, I look for similar books within the same topic scope. Sometimes I walk around bookstores and see interesting books, making them my next reads. Although there are many books still on the waiting list waiting to be read, huhuuu.

If the author mentioned a book or another author that intrigued me, I often look into that first. It’s a great way to discover new reads based on recommendations or connections made in the book I just finished. Whatever feels right at the moment, sometimes I stick to the same genre if I’m really enjoying it, while other times I switch things up to keep my reading experience fresh and diverse.

I generally look at the synopsis. If it is interesting then,I definitely pick it up. I like history books

I am consistently checking reviews on Goodreads or Amazon, or using a search engine. Thankfully, I have a lot of options, because I'm very picky about which books I will read or not.

Really good question. If the book I'm reading is the first book in a series, I will find the next book in the series and so on until the I'm all done. I guess I would say, I go back and forth between authors once I'm done with a series.

I also get recommendations by relatives or friends. Fortunately, I have a few fellow readers in my extended family, so we can refer books to each other. :techie-studyinggray:

This really depends!! Sometimes it’s decided for me by the library having a certain book finally ready for me or it’s just what I feel like reading. I usually will try to read a series back to back, but sometimes if it’s a darker series I need to even break that up. One hard rule for myself is I can’t read thrillers or suspense books back to back, it doesn’t do good things for my mental health

When I finish a book that left a mark on me, I look for similar books in the same genre as the last one. It is even better if the book is a sequel.

So I go in chronological order. Right now I'm working through a shelf of books that I already have in my possession, and I go in the order that I received them, so the oldest ones get read first. Once I've read through the stuff I have and switch to requesting things from the library, I'm requesting them in the order that they were added to my TBR.

I like doing it this way because it means I'm constantly switching up genre/author/etc., and it means that everything gets read with no preference, so things that might not be at the top of my list don't keep getting pushed to the bottom, they have just as much of a chance as everything else.
