I gave the book 2 out of 4 stars because of the abrupt ending. There were a few grammatical errors such as misspelling Betsy Ross's name, but for the most part it is a great read. I am not a fan of historical novels, but this one was set during the Civil Rights era and I found it very interesting.
There were a ton of typos in this one! I enjoyed the story though. I wasn’t expecting it to take those twists and turns.

Everything is Tuberculosis by John Green, five stars. It’s about how disease shapes society and was so much better than I thought it would be. It’s a book I think I’ll reread

I also recently finished Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and give it five stars. I felt a bit called out as I related heavily to Cather (the main character) and her struggles to write something original. It’s about relationships, writing and fan fiction all while leaving home for the first time. It’s a book that left me thinking about the characters and I was tempted to see if there is fan fiction focused on this book.

I just finished "Elphie: A Wicked History", by Gregory Maguire. It was a great look at Elphaba's childhood and prepared readers for the Wicked book series. 5 out of 5 stars ⭐

The last book I read was Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins. I'd give it a 4 out of 5. The violence (which I knew to expect) is always off-putting for me personally, but her writing is excellent, and I couldn't put it down.

I just read "The Atlantis Cure" by Pierce Roberts. It's the third of a series, and I haven't read the others, so you won't have to either. It's premise is that when Atlantis was destroyed, the Atlanteans came to North America to spread wisdom and genes. Their commitment was to eliminate sources of evil, and it was taught to all their progeny. The main character is a descendent of the ruler of Atlantis, so he has the help of their wisdom when facing evil himself.

The tale takes place during a time of many pandemics—each one worse than the previous one. A group of highly intelligent people from varied occupations and locations team up to fight those who created the viruses and to find a cure. It's a gripping story and intellectually stimulating. I loved it.

Rating 4 out of 5 because of typos.

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath

Such an emotional and riveting story. Heart breaking to think it was influenced by the author's own experiences, it was truly ahead of its time. 5 out 5 star rating.

The last book I finished was Clear by Carys Davies. It’s about a pastor who is tasked with going to a remote island to serve an eviction to its sole remaining resident in order to make a little extra money so he can open his new church. But he gets injured and they speak different languages. A lot of the book is them learning to communicate and the tension of becoming closer while knowing what the pastor is there to do. Queer themes come up in the second half of the novel. The beginning was a bit slow, but I ended up really enjoying it so I gave it 4/5 on goodreads.

The last book I read was Northland Chronicles Mother World in Peril, by John Fredrick Zurn. Whew! I must say I really enjoyed reading the book. It's about a group of explorers journeying across the Northland, trying to save their world from demise. It's a great one if you enjoy adventure novels and I learned a lot of lessons while reading the book. I gave it 4 out of 5 starts because I was put off by the errors in the manuscript. But believe me, it's a solid read, and I'd advice you all to try it out😃.
