Providing a review without completing the book is an irresponsible act. I just found out that there are people who do that. :evil2:

Recently I was looking through some reviews for a book I was interested in reading and found SEVERAL 1 star reviews for the book with the comment "DNF" or "did not finsh" or something to that degree. I was SHOCKED. People really do this? Give1 stars to a book even if they didn't read the whole thing? How do you know that it's worth only 1 star if you didn't read to the end?

It's shocking to me and I can't even imagine giving a rating to a book without reading the whole thing, even if I hated it at the beginning. The ending is always what makes or breaks the book for me, anyway.

So how about how? Can you rate books even before you finish?
People who give 1-star ratings without even reading it shouldn't be allowed to make reviews. There should be a moderator's role in the review section to question their reasons and discard irrelevant ratings.

Reading this makes me angry. I can imagine how the writer must feel, frustrated reading this review. It's incredibly disrespectful to disregard someone else's efforts.

I agree with you. It's better not to rate a book if you haven't finished it, especially giving it a 1-star rating.

I will rate them but not review them, if I didn’t finish a book it’s either really bad or something drastic I disagree with from a moral standpoint has happened.

No I don't. I am afraid that I might miss some important things and give wrong information in my review

No, I generally just delete them from my TBR list. Especially because sometimes it’s just that I wasn’t in the right mood for a specific book. For example, I abandoned Middlegame by Seanen McGuire the first try, but when I read it later I LOVED it.
