It bothers me to leave it unfinished, so I do my best to make it through and see how it ends up. There are only a few books I haven't been able to put up with that long

Yes. I guess one of the things my conscience hates the most is when I do not finish books. I get really uncomfortable and ithe feeling doesn't go until I finish the book

If I find the book to be uninteresting or unbelievable, not at all. Usually, those are the times I don't finish a book.

I used to, but now I don’t. My time is valuable and I don’t want to spend it on a book that is either bad or just not for me. More times than not when I push through, I still don’t like the book and regret it

I used to feel like I had to power through. But then I listened to a podcast by a librarian who said when she started not finishing a book she wasn’t feeling, it dramatically increased the amount she read. I tried it and she was right! It’s a good way to avoid book slumps. You’re not avoiding reading because you don’t want to go back to a specific book.
