Old Yeller about did me in as a child. That book was just so sad.

And laugh if you'd like, but the book Love You Forever makes me cry just about every single time I read it. I just can't handle the fact that my kids are going to grow up and leave me someday.

Crying over books is a fairly often occurrence for me, but I think the first ever book that made me cry was this heart wrenching story of young love doomed from the start, A thousand boy kisses. More recently, I cried over Samyann’s Yesterday.

I've cried over many many books, one of my favorite books "The Host" makes me cry every single time I listen to it during one character death. Holocaust books almost make me cry too, "The Tattooist of Auschwitz" and "Night" being the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

One book that had me in tears within the first few pages was "The Art of Racing In The Rain." Such a good book but it made me cry several times while reading it.

I can think of two books that really made me cry. Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery and Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls. It's been a long time since I read those books but I can remember exactly where I was when the sad scenes from those books hit me so hard. It's really amazing the power a book can have.

One book that really made me cry was Coast Guard. The bravery of the characters and the emotional weight of the rescue scenes hit me hard. It made me think about how much people risk to save others.
