the old Scholastic book fair during the 1980s and 1990s. the good and bad

Post by urrutiap »

This is for me and other older people who grew up with seeing the scholastic book fairs set up in the hallways of their elementary schools in the 1980s and 1990s

Good
-the nice displays of the books

the bad
scheduled at the same time of parent and teachers conferences where your parents would have to go get your grades
-the prices of the stuff at the book fair

Hi, is this the same as RIF (Reading is Fundamental)? We had the book representatives come out to our elementary school, and each child got to pick out one book for free. I thought it was amazing!

no. Scholastic was a hug deal everywhere especially with the book fair that went on the same time during parent teachers conferences at the elementary school that I went to. some stuff were a little overpriced but they were still cool to look at

Oh, I used to quite enjoy these! Except for when I forgot to ask for money from my parents!
