The story is about two families who come together through tragedy. They learn through the painful trial to come together in forgiveness, love, and through the power of music their hearts are healed.

Started of being interesting, than it just moved into the author not knowing how to end the book.

Solaris Seethes- It has a great foundation for the plot, but lacks in execution. The author should also get it professionally edited.

Fantomas by Marcel Allain and Pierre Souvestre, first published in France in 1911, is a wonderfully-paced, intriguing murder mystery, that suffers perhaps from being somewhat far-fetched and contrived in places.

Rumours abound in Paris of a dastardly master of disguise who is perpetrating a series of foul crimes and befuddling police attempts to capture him. He has become known as Fantomas.

When a woman is mysteriously murdered in her bedroom in a country estate, and a man is found dead in a suitcase in an abandoned apartment, and two wealthy women are robbed of substantial property in a top hotel, Inspector Juve of the CID starts to piece together links between these apparently unconnected crimes and suspect the involvement of Fantomas.

Like the very best fictional detectives, Juve is adept at connecting the dots on small clues to create plausible but improbable theories about identity and motive.

Full of train journeys, deception, disappearances, disguises and some cross-dressing, this is an enjoyable romp for readers, which has been set up (like a modern TV series) for sequels, by leaving the reader hanging with unresolved plot threads, unanswered questions and a dubious ending.

4 stars out of 5

Someone Knows My Name (2007) by Lawrence Hill has also been published as The Book of Negroes (referred to in the novel) and also Aminata, which is the name of the principal female character and narrator of the story.

In 1745, Aminata (Ah-ME-naw-tah) Diallo is a child stolen from her family from her African village, Bayo, and marched relentlessly for 3 months to the Guinea Coast of Africa before being transported to the Americas as a slave.

What follows is a harrowing, emotional tale of a girl, growing to become a wise and well-educated woman, always determined to survive and thrive, and retaining an ultimate goal to return to her native Africa.

The author stresses that this is a work of fiction, but based on real historical events, although Hill acknowledges altering dates and details to fit his narrative.

Altogether, a superb and rewarding narrative, all the better for being narrated in the first person. 4 stars out of 5
