Our local newspaper had a column where it reviewed new books and new authors and I found a few books there that I have read because they sounded interesting. If I hadn't seen it there I probably wouldn't have even known about the books.

Typically I read reviews of books on the internet prior to getting the book. However, if a friend recommends the book, I typically bypass the reviews.

Usually, I use the internet to find new books, whether it be from a post on here about a certain series or book, or from my friends on goodreads.

I love forums like these, Goodreads, and anything else, but because I'm absolutely crazy, I do a monthly sale snatch. It's basically where you go in, grab a random book from the sale table, and buy it without looking at anything. Its actually quite interesting. I've found several of my now-favorite authors' books this way.

I find a lot of interesting books on Goodreads so I stow those titles away to read. Other than that, I mostly browse Barnes & Noble or take recommendations from friends!

I would say reviews help a great deal. Most of the books I try come from browsing ebook sites or Amazon.

It can help pick out a book for you if you see an advertisement that catches your eye. I sometimes see book ads online.

Since my novel “Green Power” deals with environmental issues, our local newspaper felt it was worthy of a feature article. Therefore, this article was not only targeting readers of thriller novels but caught the eye of those interested in going green. Please check out this editorial piece and see what you think in regards to making someone want to read my book. auburnjournal.com/article/auburn-man-go ... e-thriller

Goodreads or simply looking books up on B&N to see what others thought always helps.
