I have read Gone with the Wind 5 times. Will probably read it again in the not so distant future.

All the books on my shelf I have read more than once (except for a few that I have just bought) otherwise I don't see the point in buying it. Some of them are worn away by how many times I've thumbed through it but that's what I enjoy the most!

This thread makes me smile because the only books that I have reread many times are "Goodnight Moon", "The Bernstein Bears Too Much Vacation", "Racer Dogs", etc. etc. etc. !!!

But now that both boys are reading on their own, I try to read for myself and participate in a book club. The only books that I have reread are Wuthering Heights and Ethan Frome.

It's probably a toss-up between "Little Women" (Louisa May Alcott) and "Last Exit to Brooklyn" (Hubert Selby Jr.). Strange combo, I know, but c'est la vie....mine, anyway.
How perfectly goddamned delightful it all is, to be sure.

For me, it would be the Chronicles of Narnia. I don't really count how many times I've re-read the book and anyway, I only read a few pages at a time, but when I'm in a depressed mood, I always like to go back to it. It's like chicken soup to me. I still love the whimsically of the series, and it's like I'm retreating to a hidden place.

The three books that really got me into reading were The Hunt for Red October, The Firm, and Jurassic Park when I was in the 5th and 6th grade. I still love all three of these books and I've read each of them at least three times. I re-read The Lord of the Rings triology every few years too. It doesn't get much better than J.R.R. Tolkien.
