I'm not sure if I answered this before but here's my answer.

I've read four books at once before and it was horrible. I'm going back to one now.

I read two at a time. I like one for night when I am crawling into bed and one when I have a few moments of silence.

I like to read only one book at a time. I get into the book and feel as if I'm there experiencing everything.

I generally read two books at once. That is because I am in a reading group, so I have that book to read and one of my own :D

Aha, yeah, my family still doesn't get how I can focus on so many stories. I usually have one in my bedroom, one by the table, and one in the bathroom (don't judge). Unless I find a book I absolutely can't stand to put down, I switch depending on where I am.

The most books I've read probably landed at four or five. If it was five, then one was probably for school. Usually, I get three or four books at the library, but I end up only liking one of them (I'm pretty picky). On average, I read one book at a time, or two if I like them both. It's just about having two books different enough that you don't confuse the plot.

I don't think that I have read any more than 2 books at a time. Usually when I'm reading a book I want to devote myself to reading it and finishing it and if I jump back and forth I can't always focus the way that I really want to.

Usually I am reading at least 2 books at a time, and often there will be a 3rd or 4th. They are almost always very distinct. Right now I am reading a very dry biography of James Madison in the morning (10 pages a day.) Then at bedtime I read fiction until I fall asleep. And during the day I read some type of self-help book which currently is a book on how to start a nonprofit organization. I have read a few books with minimal interruptions. They were either very short or very interesting. The first time I read The DaVinci Code, I read it with minimal interruptions, called some friends to tell them how fascinating it was, then read it again in one day. That day I did not read anything else!

I always read two books at a time. One Fiction and one Non-Fiction. When I sit down to read I'm usually in one of two moods- wanting to escape, fiction. Or wanting to learn, non-fiction.

I try to read one book at a time but when it is not interesting, I would read another then jump back to the one I was reading.

I try not to read more than one book at a time. The separate books with different plots and characters confuse me. Sometimes I can't help but get involved in more than one book, but I find I enjoy one much more if I focus solely on it.

This one is funny :-) I currently have two in the cabinet about half-read and I'm in the middle of another one that I'm reading consistently. It's because I buy books from the thrift store in bunches and some are not so good.. I'm afraid to get stuck somewhere without a book (things are pretty boring on post with no books) so I will leave the unfinished books in the cabinet. When I get done with the really good book(s) I'll pick those up and try and finish them until I find another one I can't put down... I'm a book addict :-)

Wow, it has always amazed me how people can read more than one book at a time. I get too invested with the story to interrupt it with another.

I have read up to four books at one time. It was difficult especially if I was on a timeline. However, I prefer no more than two at a time.

One. That's the best I can do. My brain is too precipitously small.
