What are you reading right now ?

As a phone and chess addict, I started reading books again for the first time in quite a few years. Knowing my absolute love for "The Hobbit" as a child, I decided to start a series that has the same vibe to it.
I found "The Eye of the World" (as well as almost all other books in the "Wheel of Time" series) in a local library, while searching through potential gifts for a classmate. Having read the first few pages, I decided to give it a try.
I must say that it was the perfect choice! It definitely reminds me of "The Hobbit", at least after the first 11 chapters, and it has such a thrilling storyline! The fact that this adventure made it through 14 different volumes doesn't surprise me; it's such a detailed fictional world, with so many elements to wrap my head around! From "draghkars" to "myrddraals" and every other fantastic creature whose name is pronounced nothing like its spelling, it really managed to engage me! I am looking forward to seeing how this pans out!
Note: I am reading it in Romanian, because they didn't have the original version in-store, but I am considering picking up the next volumes in English, as I think the translation of some regions and names could've been done better.

I finished reading 2 women's health books, The Betty Body and Eat Like a Girl. I am just starting a sci-fi, Island. I read lots of different genres.

Right now, I’m reading The Empusium by Olga Tokarczuk. I actually started it on my vacation in The Baltics so I had a good atmosphere going with the landscape in Latvia matching the vibes of the book. It’s a horror/thriller novel about a TB sanatorium that is not all that it seems. Spookiness ensues. I’m not very far into it, but it’s good so far.

I'm currently re-reading Elephants Can Remember by Agatha Christie. Ironically I remember next to nothing from the plot, which is going to make the unravelling of the mystery even cooler!

I’m currently reading Coast Guard, and it's really eye-opening. It talks about the bravery of the coast guard and the incredible rescue missions they take on. It’s both inspiring and intense!
