[quote="madlg13"]I just finished reading three books..The Christmas List by Richard Paul Evans, Johnathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach, and The Murder of King Tut by James Patterson.

My God .... Johnathan Livingston Seagull - takes me back to my teenage school years. Thank you for such a lovely memory on a miserable Saturday morning.

I'm reading a vintage novel from 1920, called The Brightener, by C.N. and A.M. Williamson.

The Rise of Endymion by Dan Simmons. It's the fourth and final book of Simmons' Hyperion series. They are the best science fiction books I've ever read.

I'm re-reading 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Marquez. It's so engrossing.

I've only read this and Dreams of my Meloncholy Whores by him. Love in the Time of Cholera seemed to me like such a hilarious title that I couldn't pick it up during its popularity. I'm sure it sounds much more poignant in Spanish.^^

Anyway, I'm enjoying this one again.

I'm reading "The Straw Men" by Michael Marshall. First I've read of his.

I really like Phillip Margolin. Any suggestions for books/writers that would be similar?

Right now believe it or not I'm reading "No! I don't want to join a bookclub" by Virginia Ironside.
It's a light and ironic twist on the growing old process particularly for a woman .... I think she could be described as Bridget Jones at 60

Light relief on a miserable winter day!

Hi there Rudi, I don't know if you know this or not but there are two more books which follow on from "The Straw Men. "The Lonely Dead" and "Blood of Angels" I read these three books a long time ago and remember really enjoying them. :)

When some one writes that they are reading or have finished more than one book does that mean you have been reading a couple of books at once? I've never been able to do that...
Any way I am reading Crime and Punishment VERY slowly...but I am loving it thus far.

1983 part one by Garry Kay about students in the 80s.
Very funny. Took me back to my student days. Highly recommended. Bought it through the author's website.
