I think books. I think this because I notice when I'm on the computer my eyes kill me after a short time. I'm assuming that's the same with ebooks too.

For me it's paper books or a kindle (without the backlight). I agree with the statement about spending all day staring at a computer and needed a break from the electronics. I found though that the kindle is the closest thing to a paper book when it comes to preventing eyestrain. :)

I think it depends on the e-book. I had a sony e-reader and apart from the poor battery life, I found the contrast too low and had a hard time with reflection off the screen if the lighting was wrong. Then I got a Kindle and the matt surface makes all the difference. I like e-books because you can carry as many books as you like but I prefer paper books because you you can more easily see where you are in the book and if there are pictures as in a reference book or non-fiction book, paper books are much better. I'm not sure about the Kindle Fire - the screen seems very shiny to me and I would imagine that could be difficult.

For me it depends on the situation, if I have a migraine then ebooks create more eye strain, but at night I prefer reading ebooks since the light is brighter.

I don't find any problem with either my tablet or paper books.

I've found that reading from a real book to be best, but that reading on a eReader is pretty decent as well. The only thing I can't do is red from a tablet, that just gives me headaches.

Paper books produce less eye strain for me. But that's just because I prefer paper books to e-books, it might be different for different people.

Definitely standard paper books. Ebooks require reading on a screen, which causes the eye to absorb more light.

As much as I love to read ebooks, they are definitely harder on my eyes than a paper book. I get tired eyes and a headache a lot faster when reading off of a screen as opposed to paper.

In my opinion ebooks cause more eye strain. The more I use my electronics, the more my eyes bother me.

I would think ebooks cause more eye strain over time, which is probably the reason many e-readers try to mimic the quality of the printed page (eg. kindle paperwhite). I don't find that much of a difference personally, but I do enjoy the option of being able to adjust the size of the text.

books cause less strain. The lighting makes your eyes have to force more to adjust your eyes causing strain.

I think ebooks give more of eye strain. Probably because of the screen light over the eyes all the time. Books also strain the eyes but one needs to be careful about the reading posture, to minimize the strain.

To me, it's easier on my eyes to read a paper book. Looking at an electronic device too long can give me a headache.
