I've tried reading more than one at a time, but decided I didn't like it. Now I only read one at a time.

I always read more than one book. One tends to be a fantasy book for when I need to escape, while the other is nonfiction. It's rare for me to get confused between the two plotlines since the books are so different. Sometimes I'll also be reading a third fiction book, although that one won't be related to fantasy.

I also sometimes excitedly begin a book when I've become too impatient, and end up leaving the rest of the books I was reading to the side.

Yeah, I've read I think...maybe four at the most. Because sometimes I will get bored of what I'm reading if it's a long book and I'll switch to a new one. Or I will have one I'm reading at home, but I will get a new book I'm excited about and start that one even though I still have to finish the first one.

Only one. I've tried reading more than one in the past and found myself not being able to enjoy them as much as I would have to keep backtracking to remind myself what had happened.

I do this as well. Sometimes, I'll get really sucked into one of the books and finish it; but usually, I pick up about three or four to read in the beginning, and then wait to get really into one of them.

I read about 4-5 books at a time (although there has been a time when I read 11 at once...). I find that I read a book on my Kindle while at school, a hardcopy book while at home, an audiobook in the car, and some ARC's too. I generally read in big blocks of time and sometimes I struggle sticking with one book for hours on end (unless it's really good). It definitely helps when I can switch between books, reading an hour or so for each book before moving onto the next.

You know, that's an interesting question. I am a one-book-at-a-time-reader! I like to put all my concentration into one book before I delve into another one. I've never been able to read more than one book at a time.

Depending on the genres, I can normally read about three books at a time. If one is boring, I can keep myself interested with the other two.

Usually I like to read just one book at a time but I have found myself at times reading two books at the same time. I found it rather easy and I didnt get the books confused with one another. I also finished them both in a day which is a new record for me. I will probably do it again. You should try it if you havent yet.

Currently, I'm reading 3 books.

I may have mild ADD so I do need to be starting on multiple books at once if I ever hope on finishing at least one of them. Normally they have to be about conflicting themes so I don't mix them up. But it hasn't developed into having an intricate system so I should be fine. My motivations for reading a book is very variable. At one time I was able to read Ethan Frome in one sitting, and that came as a surprise to me because very rarely do I sit still while reading.

One book at a time for fun. Sometimes for school I would be reading multiple books.

I tend to read more than one book at once. I gravitate toward a certain book depending on my mood or what mood I want to evoke in myself. Based on that, I usually read 2 or 3 books at once and switch inbetween them. For instance, I may read a mystery, autobiographical and romance book at the same time. I don't get confused because the stories are usually so different from one another. For me, it is much like keeping up with the lives and happenings of three of my very different friends.

I think it depends from person to person. There are people that only read one book at a time (either because they get confused or because they want to) and people that read three four, five books at the same time. As for me, it really depends on the subjects. I would say two or three is my usual limit number.
