Suspense thrillers. I like the combination of mystery, suspense, action and a fast pace.

I enjoy sci-fi, such as Asmiv's foundation series, enders game and the saga that follows. Then I switch over to James Herbert and his array of horror (rats, etc), Steven King has written a ton of book I have enjoyed as has Dean Koontz. I guese I am all over... lol

I read horror primarily, then mystery, science fiction, then fantasy.
I've got a lot of non-fiction to read on various topics, and a ton of graphic novels I've been stockpiling. *lol*
If the plot appeals to me, I'll read just about anything.

I love history and science and sometimes a mystery, all nonfiction of course. Why read fiction when the truth is so fascinating?

I like to read a lot of different genres. But I am really into historical fiction, mystery, chick lit. I really enjoy books that have a great plot and good characters that evolve and change throughout the book.

I like horror, crime, mystery, fantasy. I will read just about anything except for romance. I have never been able to get into those.

Mostly history and historical fiction novels. Also for some reason I've gotten a bit into non-fiction books such as "Gang Leader for a Day", "Tipping Point"...etc.

I only read sci-fi.. about 15 to 20 a year. No true crime or vampires for me, except for the ones in the Ringworld series.

I love action! Books like the Bourne series and The Hunger Game. I recently read Cold Mountain and it had enough action to keep me excited about it. I thought the Civil War era would bore me, but I loved it.

Of course the author wants to get all his facts right, and sometimes researching takes an incredible amount of time and work.
Historical fiction is STILL fiction, why not read nonfiction? As somebody once said "Truth is stranger than fiction" - and it is, also it's more interesting I think.

Hi there guytwo. I do read alot of non-fiction as well as fiction. With non-fiction books, I like books on Ancient Rome, the napoleonic era, the crusades and world war 2 to name my favourites. I also love biographies on generals and leaders from throughout these time periods.

Its interesting because at the moment I am reading "In Cold Blood" by Truman Capote. It is classed as a non-fiction novel. It is written in a novel format but it is non-fiction and meticulously researched. I would love to know where you stand on books such as this. Would you read it? Have you read it?

Everybody is different and has different tastes. My father was a voracious reader who never read fiction either. If I recommended him a book that was fiction he would not even look at it.

I totally agree with you that sometimes non-fiction books can be stranger than fiction. "In Cold Blood" reads like something that has come from a fictional writer's mind and yet it is all true and much more enjoyable than some fictional crime books I have read.

At the end of the day however I do enjoy fiction better than non-fiction and historical fiction is my favourite genre. I respect your opinion that non-fiction is more interesting than fiction, but I do think that is also a very generalised statement. Imho, realistically there are going to be some non-fiction books more interesting than some fiction books and vice a versa.

We are all so different and we all have different likes and tastes. I think everybody should just read what they enjoy. :)

History and philosophy. I don't read much fiction unless someone suggests a book that has plenty of violence and minimal plot.
