I Couldn't agree more. You put words on thoughts I didn't know I had. Sometimes when I have real conversations with people, I think of it as reading. I listen to their stories, ask questions and try to understand. I think that sometimes listening to people can be a way of reading.babypinkcandygirl wrote: ↑07 Sep 2007, 21:57 i love reading because they are just like conversations; you never know how they are gonna turn out. some are old and familiar like a life-long best friend, some are new and exciting, some utterly bore you, some stimulate or anger you, some are thought provoking, some are like those friends you party with (great for distraction, useless for any depth).
but i think the best ones are the ones that stay with you always, whether you read them once or a hundred times. like when you meet a great person and you stay up the entire night talking... thats what reading a truly great book feels like to me
I love reading for many reasons, which all are are not very clear to me yet. I believe it is my chance to live all adventures I whish to live, without being hurt, damaged or go bankrupt in the process. I read sometimes to escape, to turn away restlessness. To fall in love or out of boredom. To pass time, to learn about the world. To find mening, to understand people.
In the process of reading I have learnt so much. I believe some books have raised me alongside my parents. I learnt about true friendship from Harry, Ron and Hermione. I learnt aboout surviving and meaning from Yhossi Ghinsberg (Back from Tuichi). Actually I am still learning about love, friendship and relations from various writers. As long as there are books and coffe in this world, I will have a good life.

Reading is comforting and helps me open my mind up abit more. In the quest of working on myself I always found reading to be one of the best places to start.
1) removes distractions
2)helps one focus
3)helps one reach goals
4)life lessons are found
3)increases cognitive sense and vocabulary.
