The reason I like reading is because it gives me that enjoyment of exploring different perspectives and imaginations of authors. It helps to feel connected and more open to people’s thoughts and opinions.

I like reading because it helps me to get away from my problems and issues at least for a good period of time. It also, depending on the book, helps me to connect to the characters and to be able to connect with them just kind of gives the sense that I'm not alone, that I'm not the only one who goes through this stuff. It also gives me a sense of imagination.

There are so many reasons why I love reading! First off, I developed my love for literature at a very young age. Reading instantly became a passionate hobby for me. When I read, I can see, hear, feel, and smell everything on that page. I become completely engulfed. Depending on what you read, you can learn so much without knowing it or even travel through time! I love it!

I also started reading very early and have always loved diving into a story. You can explore and discover so many things in books, which you might not be able to do otherwise. Compared to watching TV, it's usually more detailed and also you have more scope for building up a book's world in your head and imagining the scenes and characters.

I read to escape, to be taken to another world and be distracted. When I read, I become completely interested in the story and the characters that the book is my current place of mind. Additionally, I like to keep my mind strong by expanding my knowledge and vocabulary.

It gives you a way to leave whatever problems you have in your life and just divulge yourself into whatever life you wish you could live. Let it be fantasy, romance, or even a little comedy. There is always something for everyone.

I cherish reading because I get to absorb all the knowledge that may as well have taken someone years and years of hard work. It also helps me be more knowledgeable than ever before. The fact that I can either sympathize with someone else's opinion or disagree with them just by reading is something that's always fascinated me. Last but not least, I get to learn new vocabulary while reading!

Actually my real passion is writing. Words understand me very well and this is why I can always find the words that can describe me the most. When it comes to reading, I love to read because I am always interested to see how people use words and how different than my way of using words, and see if I can learn a thing or two.

I did my thesis on gaming motivations and there were 3 different kinds of motivations: 1. achievement 2. social and 3. immersion. In the case of books, I think, at least for me, all three motivations are involved. I have a sense of achievement when I successfully finish reading a book. When a book is left half-read or unread, I find it unsettling. As far as social motivation is concerned, I have found that reading makes me a better person. I have a lot to talk about diverse topics and it is only because of my reading habit. I also feel that reading is the best escape from the monotony of everyday life. There is nothing more enjoyable for me than immersing myself in a book during my daily commute or before I fall asleep every day.

Some people may say reading is fundamental but actually you can really learn something just by reading. People may see it's boring and some may say it's fun. You just have to actually read the book to find out what's it's really about.

I like reading because I want to gain a new and valuable perspective. Ideally a valuable experience. I want to find and savour a line that hit the nail on the head or put into words a thought that was already partially formed in your mind. I like reading because it expands my mind and creates flexibility towards all that the diversity of humans have thought up.
