I think its because stories takes me to places I've never been to or it reminds me of things I've done or been to in the past. It also relaxes me, especially when I have a cup of coffee with a book.

To be honest, even though I read from before elementary school, and although it was interesting, the moment I understood what a story feels like was in my fourth grade of elementary school. I was 10, and of the books for our mandatory literature was White Mane. It was then that I discovered feelings and emotions within a book. I felt sad for the characters, cried, grieved, and that left a deep imprint on me. After that, everything seemed to change.

Reading books refresh your mind and vocabulary. Reading books on varied subjects imparts information and increase the depth of the subject as well. Reading books increase your better understanding of something that not known to you. And it helps you to relax and meditates on something.

I like reading because it takes you to so many places, people, and things in life. Also its very relaxing and also just to get lost for a while from the everyday hum drum of life.

Reading is like life experience but living vicariously through someone else. I get emotionally attached to the characters I guess that equates to companionship, you’re never alone when you have a book with you.

Reading increases my vocabulary and it makes me wiser and knowledgable.

I like reading non- fiction books and I take what is important and practice it every day in order to prosper and improve my life. I strongly believe that Authors should be supported in order to produce more books for readers. :techie-studyingbrown:

I love reading because it helps me have a different perspective about different things. Also, the books gives me company because am not the type of an outgoing person and so with books I feel complete and okay.

I absolutely love reading. I'm a very curious person who is all for adventure, no matter the time or place, and reading takes me to different worlds anytime I want. I love getting swept away in a world that could never be reality as I tend to read sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, adventure, or fiction books. It also allows me to be alone (I'm not a very social person) without actually feeling alone.

I think reading develops the brain and gives you the ability to understand other people. Besides, you develop your language if you read a lot because you learn new words all the time. To sum things up you can say that the best way to learn things, or to develop your language is to read.

My experience is that people who are avid readers began reading in their childhoods. After I was given my first Dick and Jane book (primer elementeray book), reading became my toy. I would read my Reading book in one or two nights and be promoted to the next book. I was reading on a fourth grade level in the first grade. I read all the time. Instead of hanging out with friends, I went to the library to read books and hung out with the librarian.

I've traveled many places all around the world. Yet, I have only visited a few American cities. I've never been to California but I've felt the California sunshine through reading books. Bookworms, as we are sometimes called, are mostly quiet, loners, creative and have huge imaginations. I am grateful for the gift of books.

Hello everyone. Why do I like reading? Well of all; I don't like reading, I LOVE READING!!!!!! Reading allows me to travel to plans that I will never go to and I'm very happy that. My mother was an avid reader and so am I.
Deborh95: that is how I was and still am. I would rather read a mystery book or going outside and gettin eat up by bugs. I have a corner sit on the couch, right next to the arm. I use the armrest for my books. I go to the library often also.

I love reading because it allows me to escape in a way that other activities can't. It lets me really become immersed in other characters, experiences and personalities, and feel them as if I am there, in a way that I think TV and movies don't. You don't get to know a character's deepest thoughts and feelings through film the way you do with books. I can relate to the characters more easily and feel what they feel. And I can take a book anywhere with me, and quietly read it by myself.

I love reading for several reasons:
  • It helps me escape into another world.
It helps me travel the world on VIP ticket from the comfort of my seat.
It gives me a chance to learn more and expand my knowledge about various issues.

I have wildly different reasons for reading different books, and each implies a different way of reading. Web novels and light novels are usually pure escapism for me; means to explore different worlds and experience the power and competence we all wish we had (unless you're a multi-millionaire or something). Mystery novels are puzzles I read obsessively, making note of every detail to try and solve it before the detective. While the satisfaction of solving a good mystery is also great, I relish in the challenge itself. I read fantasy to be immersed in their fantastic settings, classic literature to explore aspects of history, society, and human nature, as well as to try absorbing something from the great writers, non-fiction to learn something new, etc.
