I used to do it all the time, but not so much lately since I read more often on my e-reader and it probably won't take kindly to being accidentally dropped in the bath.

I totally agree. Sometimes it's the ONLY quiet time you get from the kids. I also find that it's a great way to leave the world outside and escape from stress as well so I can sleep.

No, I haven't. I am afraid to ruin the book.

I used to read all the time while taking a bath. I used to even read while taking a shower (although this truly angered my father who paid the water bill)! There is no better feeling than holding a book in your hands while water rains down your back. Unfortunately, I must stress the word usage of "used to" because I no longer am able to due to the ever so popular e-readers. Now that I own a Kindle, I can not risk exposing my kindle to any moisture. My showers are now shorter, and the water bills a lot more inexpensive.

I HAVE ruined a book in the tub before. I dropped an anthology of contemporary short stories right in the water and the book expanded like a big accordian. I was able to finish the book though. And it hasn't stopped me from reading in the tub!

I've tried a couple of times but I can't relax enough to enjoy the experience or really get into the book because I'm constantly worried I'll drop my book in the water!

I never used to, but lately I take more baths than showers just so I can read. My family hates it, because I have a habit of emptying some of the cooled water halfway through and refilling it.

I deliberately ruined a book once. This book was just pissing me off, insulting me and being sexist and racist and generally the author (or possibly, in fairness, the narrator, it's hard to say) sounded like a giant jerk. I'd been trying to suspend my judgement for a hundred pages before I had the most random urge to simply plunge it under the water. It's still the most satisfying thing I've ever done.

No. I usually take showers, the bathroom gets really foggy and I can't even read my Shampoo's brand. Besides, I'm afraid to get them wet.

I love reading in the bath as it is my quiet time - I have been known to top up the bath with hot water after getting absorbed in a great read.

Many times? Several of my favorite books have water damage. I know it is bad for the book, but its so lovely to relax in a hot bath with an old favorite.

I love to read in the bath. For me, that's part of the relaxation. Now that I use a Nook I am a bit afraid I'll drop it in the water but it's been a couple years and so far that hasn't happened. Hope I didn't just jinx myself!

Yeah. Got a little messy because of soap suds and water getting on the pages.
