I love reading because

1) It helps me escape when I am in distress
2)I love imagining things while I'm reading, and putting myself in other's shoes (also compatible with number 1.)
3)I love learning new things
4)It's amazing how two people can see the same book in two different ways - I love talking about books and exchanging opinions.

So, pretty much the same as everyone else.

I love the escape that I get from reading. You can have a terrible day, but if you pick up a really good book, those bad feelings disappear and I'm left feeling a lot better afterwards.

I enjoy reading because it is the only way to live 100+ lives in one.

It's really funny to try to identify with the characters of the book and to imagine the environment. I think reading develops the brain and gives you the ability to understand other people. Besides, you develop your language if you read a lot because you learn new words all the time.

I absolutely love reading.. why? Let me count on.. reading brings me to a different place or time or an experience which I love the most about. And also because it helps me to escape from the reality of life . And because I like to gather knowledge, experience which is ample in books. And ultimately it brings me a strange peacefulness and happiness no matter the situation.

I love reading because I enjoy the escapism the stories give me. There's no better feeling than getting lost in the worlds that the authors create. Right now I am really loving that my daughters are doing the same, and seeing the joy and wonder on their faces as they dive into magical worlds is just delightful.

Reading improves your conversational skills
Because reading increases your vocabulary and your knowledge of how to correctly use new words, reading helps you clearly articulate what you want to say. ... Their conversation tends to be deep, and it makes me grin when little ones use fancy words they found in a book.

I don't think I can add much of anything that has not been discussed. I, also find that reading is a form of escape and relaxation. I am always thirsty for knowledge and one book seems to lead to another.

I love reading because it helps me escape and relax. No matter what day I am having I pick up a book and everything is okay. I learn a lot from books. Reading takes me to places. Improves my vocabulary and experiences.

Why do I like reading? Because I don't know what I could do instead.
In my opinion, the best of human opinions and ideas are not in movies or music; they're in books! Basically, we know because we read it somewhere. I've traveled around the world in books, learned a little of several disciplines from books. I really do not see what else I could do if do not read.

In a nutshell, it's the best and only form of interplanetary travel there is! (Not that it has to be a scuff book, more that sometimes I really really just need to get off this planet!)

I love to learn new things, to analyze different writing styles to perfect my own craft, and to have an escapist hobby that requires a little more effort than watching TV. Words are beautiful.
