I've been in a 4 year relationship with a man who doesn't really read much, because his family didn't teach him to read when he was a kid. He has to read a lot for school, though [he's studying medicine], but he doesn't really enjoy it. He's read about 4 books he really likes, but that's about it.

He loves the fact that I love to read, though. Sometimes he asks me if I can read something to him :) he enjoys watching me read a book because I get so excited lol.

C0ldf1re- I tried throwing stakes at him... but he just laughed at me. I think you need a plan B. Darn.

Yes. I am married to someone who absolutely refuses to read anything other than very short magazine articles in spite of my every effort to encourage him to give it a try. I love my husband very much, however I really wish we could cuddle and read together, or have a discussion and share opinions about a book we just read.

I have had to just accept that he does not share my passion for reading. I am trying to raise our children to really love books, though, so I enjoy reading with them.

Who knows, maybe one day he will come around to the RIGHT way of thinking!

Fear not, my dearest darling. You know already that I am a six-foot 16-stone ex-Military-Policeman. You know already that I am a lawyer committed to fighting for truth and justice in the Courts. Know now that your future husband was a lay-preacher also, ordained in the never-ending battle between good and evil. I have faced demons before.

From http://www.poetryloverspage.com/poets/k ... thone.html:

"And she was a damsel of delicate mould,
With hair like the sunshine and heart of gold,

And little she knew the arms that embraced
Had cloven a man from the brow to the waist:

And little she knew that the loving lips
Had ordered a quivering life's eclipse,

Or the eye that lit at her lightest breath
Had glared unawed in the Gates of Death.

(For these be matters a man would hide,
As a general rule, from an innocent Bride.)"

Fear not, my angel. The forces of Evil will be overcome, and you and I will be united forever in the sacred bonds of Holy Matrimony, to live happily ever after.

Afraid not, Coldfire. You seem, a lifetime of reading horror and King books has taught me to stay one step ahead of the pack at all times, so none of your silver bullets, crucifixes, holy water etc will do the trick, this is one Kingman who wont go down in the final paragraph- maybe the sequel eh

Man Coldf1re, you want to really get to him?

Just stick him in a dang room with Laci and I for a day with nothing but a remote control, an ipod with whatever on it, a bag of chips, ice, a permanent marker, and finger paint...

Mission accomplished.

Haha, you shall never know until the time of your death...
Or rather, I don't think we'd kill you, we actually like you too much.
But it's going to be a hell of a time!

First time since The Fall that a demon has said that. Can a demon pray for salvation? Some interesting points of theology there...
