Reading takes me to places I’ve never been, teaches me about the past, makes me change my opinion sometimes, fills up empty hours, and makes me happy.

I love reading for a variety of reasons. I love to learn, for one thing. I love words. (I read dictionaries for fun!) And, of course, so I can escape into another world through the words on the page.

Reading enlightens my mind with new knowledge, imaginations and sometimes provides solutions to real life problems. Besides this reasons, it also helps improve my verbal grammar. I had a major problem on use of tenses during my public speaking. Reading has helped me master the tenses and use them appropriately.

I love to read because it takes me away from my reality and let's me visit another one of my choice. I am able to learn about different cultures, customs and relive history. I personally use reading as an escape. It is stress free, healthy and affordable.

Because reading takes me into the lives of the characters that I am reading about. I love to experience the travails and joys of the characters! I love to escape into their worlds! Plus reading reminds me of being a kid where I would voraciously consume books from the library!

I like to read books to escape.I also like to read as a hobby to see what the author is seeing aspects of life from his or her perspective.

I like reading because it takes me to a different world. When I read I am all the way into the book. It takes me away from all the business of life.

Reading improves your conversational skills. Because reading increases your vocabulary and your knowledge of how to correctly use new words, reading helps you clearly articulate what you want to say. The knowledge you gain from reading also gives you lots to talk about with others.

I love to read because I learn new things, meet different people's minds and tastes, gain more ability to write, give me peace of mind, and feel good.

Reading to me is like watching movies and sometimes I do confuse books ive read as movies. Il ask a family member or friend if they have seen a movie I watched and highly reccomend and as im providing a description i realize it's actually a book ive read not a movie. I love how my brain can visualize the author's characters and personality traits it make it so real as if im actually in a theater. I love the peaceful entertainment of it all drinking hot tea while enjoying a nice book has to be my own heaven on earth.

Escapism is the main one for me, I think - I love to get immersed in worlds that aren't my own and escape into a character's head. I find it fascinating how I can be transported into someone else's world and someone else's life. I enjoy character studies in fiction more than heavily plot driven things because of that. I also would like to write something someday, and reading gives me inspiration for writing and a guide of sorts to what I like and dislike in a book that I may someday reflect on in my own.

I like reading due to the journey it gives. Books can take you along a magical roller coast of emotion ranging from sadness to vigor. I think we all know that feeling of being engrossed in a book and losing track of time. Books like these take you into their own world. In addition to that, books can also teach and be informative. The sheer knowledge that books have the potential to give is one of the reasons why I like reading nonfiction. These are just some of the reasons why I like reading.

I really like being able to take a break from the things that are bothering me in a way that doesn't involve a screen. I feel like I spend so much time watching Netflix, Hulu, etc. that it's a nice change to do an activity that's not mediated by a screen.
