Re: Why do you like reading?
Ultimately, I love reading because it makes me a more empathetic, more loving, more grateful, more reflective, more optimistic, and happier person. A better person.
The only think I dislike about reading is the book hangovers, but, then again, there's still a part of me that loves the way words can wreck me.

There are plenty of reasons as to why I like reading but I have found myself often lingering on the thought that reading allows me a temporary escape from the world we all live in. It's that alluring sense for adventure and curiosity of the unknown that brings you back to sit somewhere comfy and stick your nose deep in a book.
As far as I can tell, reading had taught me lessons and showed me valuable examples as to what I should predict and assume of life. Whether it be fiction, fantasy or mystery and thriller novels, I believe that each book holds a certain magic of it's own that readers can feel as they slowly brush their fingers on the pages and as their eyes follow word after word.
What I like about reading most is the fact that you get so lost and succumbed to a world that doesn't even exist and yet it makes you believe as if you've lived that life as your own. It makes me feel like a double agent living a double life, except in my case, I could live tens to a hundred more lives as I sit and open a book.

1. Reading someone's ideas help me to know the writer's understanding about the discussed topic. So, it helps me to understand writer's approach.
2. Secondly, reading someone's approach enhances your knowledge to look at things with different perspectives. Furthermore, at the same time in some cases it also shows someone's limitations of writer's discussed work.
3. Finally, it gives you analysis to take someone's work and apply as a contribution in your own studies.

Why do you like it so much? What is it about reading that attracts you to it?
I think I like reading because it allows me to hear from people who have something important to say. You can read from the best thinkers no matter where they are or even when. I'm amazed by the fact that I can go to the book store and buy hours of reading material written by someone who lived hundreds or even thousands of years ago.
What about you?
I agree with everything you've stated above. I can't imagine more joy than what evolves when you can sit and digest content written from a collection of years. Some authors work on their works for decades, and all you have to do is open your eyes and flip a page? Now that is exciting. A good book, a cup of coffee, a serene environment, that's my perfect moment.
