I am not ashamed to say, yes! I don't read them for that intention, but after reading "Beautiful Bastard" oh my goodness!! It was just so detailed.

It hasn't happened to me very often but every now and again I will read a scene that was written so well that I was immersed in it and the next thing you know...

As a teenager maybe....now I'm 21 and married and if I read an erotic novel its because imcfacinated with the story not the erotica in it and it honestly doesn't bother me. The only erotica that really made me blush was fifty shades of grey.

As a teenage boy, centuries ago, I recall finding in my father's library a book called "Sexus", by Henry Miller. It was my first exposure to both foul language and sex in the printed word, and it was extremely titillating to my young mind.
I seem to recall that the sexual aspects of the book were extremely vivid, indeed, bordering on pornography. I wonder what I would think today if I were to re-read it.

Yes definitely
some of them are so well written that it's enevitable that you will get turned on
You get such an amazing picture in your mind of what you are reading

For me it depends on how well I feel drawn into the story and the mood I'm in when I pick up the book. In my mid twenties and will admit a bit of erotica has initiated a few things with my partner.

Maybe its because im only in my 20's. Or maybe im just different. i just want to know, do you ever get turned on by a erotic novel?
Sincerely,
Jessica

I am sure you would find it mild. Same thing happened to me with my first exposure to erotic content.

Year's later, I went back to it and... well, let's just say my mind blew things out of proportion, the first time.

Hahaha, tame? Compared to..? I have read a number of erotica novels and I think 50 would be tame compared to that but as a purely romance book, ...hmm

WARNING:  This book is explicit- I would rename book one 'S&M for Dummies'. Your inner child may scream. Other than that... enjoy!
S&M for dummies, hahahaa. I guess 50 was okay. I have read it just one time. I thought it was lacking in character development

now, The Crossfire is all the rage

Age777 wrote: 23 Sep 2013, 00:15 I prefer to read romance versus erotica but I have been turned on many times by well written material.

I find that the scene itself is very minimal in the stimulation. I have to be so submerged in the story that I basically fall in love (not romantic love) with the characters and have to know what's happening next. Those are usually the books where ithe story ends on a good note but I wish I could continue hearing how their lives turn out. The characters become real for me. They aren't just ink or text on paper or screen.

In short yes I have been turned on but it was the relationship between the characters not the act itself.

i totally agree with you. if t content is well written and I am in a certain mood, it works. Other times, u skip right over the sex scenes
