3 But they have to be different genres, and I technically listen to another one. So I keep track of 4 books at one time.

The most I will read at once is 2 books so I don't lose focus on what I am reading. I usually always keep notes that way I don't get confused and I use them for when I write my reviews on here and on my blog.

I prefer to only read one at a time. Just so I don't get confused, and so the author has my full attention.

I've usually got several going at once. As a homeschool teacher, I'm usually reading one or two aloud to different children. Then I might have a book going on my Kindle, a regular book, and maybe something for church.

I used to read one at a time but now usually have at least two and sometimes three to suit my mood, concentration level, etc.

It depends on what you mean by "at a time." Intensely reading? 2 tops, preferably 1. But sometimes between studies and leisure reading, I'll be in the middle of 4+ books at a time waiting to be finished.

For me usually no more than maybe 3, otherwise the details start to bleed together or I begin to forget things as a consequence of trying to retain to much information at one time. I prefer reading two at a time because if something gets too intense for me to handle and I need time to process events then I switch over to the other book (usually a different genre or plot type) to help me get a handle on myself.

i can only read one book at a time because i feel like i can not devote my full attention to more than one book. i feel like one book would be neglected if i read two books at a time. the only time i read more than one book is if i can not get into the first book i will start a second while still reading the first to see if it gets any better. in that situation i will usually stop reading the first book and continue the second.

I usually read more than one book at a time, but I never do more than three. Fairly often you are bound to get confused but that is also if you are reading the same genre. What I do to do is usually read books that are in no way related so I don't tend to get confused. At the moment I'm reading Clockwork Angel, The Statistical Probability of Love At First Sight, & Fight Club.

I usually read three at a time, one religious book, one book to prepare for class, and one book for fun.

I would really like trying to read more then one book at once. But I get so swept up I couldn't even think about changing worlds half way through. Besides I read pretty fast. i generally start a new book every other day during the work week, (on the weekends I'm at the beach) so I don't see a point in juggling more then one at a time.

If a book is really good, I'll finish it in one go. What happens more often though, is that I'll read multiple books simultaneously but usually not more than one at a time of any particular genre. I kind of think of it like episodes of tv shows...you're not always going to be in the mood for the same type of story and most people follow more than one show at a time.

I am reading six books right now. Some of them are for my classes, but two are just for fun. You have to get the fun ones in there sometime. :D

I hate reading more than one book at a time unless i'm waiting for a new book in a series to come out.
