My 22-year-old daughter loves that book! (I mean the "zombies" one -- though actually she's also fond of the REAL "Pride and Prejudice."

A lot of Austen fans are offended by it but a friend of mine who is a huge fan told me it is "a hoot" and that as a horror fan I would like it. We'll see.

I've watched every film version I can get my hands on many times. Don't know why I like the story but I do. Glad your daughter liked it, hope I do too.

I think "hoot" is the perfect description, from what my daughter said!

I have just finished A Reliable wife. This book was ok but definitely not one that I couldn't put down. It had me curious to see what would happen and to see how the story wrapped up but none of the characters made me sympathize with them no matter how hard their lives had been.

Just finished Into the Wild and am now on to Moby Dick. Looking for a good light read next, any suggestions?

I am reading Little Women and soon going to finished up with this. It has a nice story line but it is quite boring to read and is not really holding my interest.I am never going to read this book again.

I just finished Gemma by Meg Tilley. Its narrated through the eyes of an abused twelve year old, then switches to the abuser's point of view. It gives insight to the why's of these innocent victims. Why they stay, why the guilt, why the attachment to the abuser.

Have just finished "The Fighting Temeraire" - Sam Willis and "Horns" - Joe Hill. Both of them very enjoyable. I am now reading "Trafalgar" - edited by Tom Pocock and "Hyddenworld" - William Horwood.

I'm a little half way through the book "The Brief History of the Dead" by Kevin Brockmeier. I'm enjoying it so far. I'm also about 100 pages into "Mein Kampf."

A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving.. its my first foray into Irving and by the first 15 pages I knew I had a go-to author... already have The World According to Garp waiting to be read on my bookshelf.
