The Time Machine was a good adaptation of the book. It ended a little differently but was still a good movie. The Rod Taylor version, not the stupid remake.

On the subject of books and their movie adaptations, I was watching the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings trilogy yeserday on Starz, and I was utterly transfixed. I am not one to rewatch movies and I hound my wife relentlessy about her habit of watching movies over and over again, but LOTR is the exception. Those movies are so magic and beautiful that I could watch them in a continuous loop. Peter Jackson looks like a little troll, but his mind is pure genius.

I thought he had a makeover, lost weight, had a haircut, got contact lens?

To get in the festive mood, "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" a 2000 movie based on Dr Seuss book, starring Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen, is right up there on my list of favourites. It is suitably icky and outrageous yet is full of fun and I think Ron Howard did a reasonably good job following the book.

My favorite book turned movie is the Exorcist. Most of my favorite books turned movies are of the horror genre.

Last of the Mohicans - Daniel Day Lewis and the music was almost perfect. When it comes on the tube I have to stop and watch.

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. I loved the book and the movie, the 1980 version though; I watched the 1993 version but I didn't love it as much as the older one. It is a small book but a big movie ( 3 hours ) but it was worth watching every second! You should check the movie out ,it's on Youtube. :)
