Well, pretty hard to answer I love to read I could read anything most of the time, one the other hand he does read but he read things that would be in the back burner for me to read so we always bumping heads in the sense why we are reading opposite books. we do reading days with the family. my ex on the other hand hated reading .. he use to burn my books thats the reason we are no longer together .. lol naww but yeah over my 200 book collection was only able to save about 40 sad i know.. so u are able to date someone is that just dont understand the adrenaline when you have that great book in your hands and you are not able to put down.

I Married someone who chooses not to read, its sometimes annoying i can't discuss the books i read with him, but at least he leaves me be when i do read, he knows reading is an important part of my life. it's probably why i signed up here to see what people think of the books that i love so much. :)

No, I couldn't.
Books are a major part of my life.
I've been a bookseller (12 years in the trenches), I've worked in a university library (2 years there), I'd rather buy books than clothes, and there are literally books in every room of the apartment I live in.
I've logged all my books in to Goodreads, am constantly updating Goodreads with new things I want to read, & I keep track of what I'm currently reading and I'm trying like the dickens to catch up and fulfill my 2012 Goodreads Reading Challenge of 30 books for this year.
I've got a list of things to hunt for when I visit the used bookstores I frequent entered on my iPod Touch to take with me, as my phone didn't come with a noted feature.
Am I a bibliophile?
Oh yeah. :)

Yep. I've been dating my boyfriend for over 5 years, and he doesn't like reading at all. He's read some books, but it's hard to get him really into it. I don't mind though; just because he doesn't read doesn't mean I can't... he knows I love to read, and he loves that about me :) so it's all good.

I guess I could yeah, if reading's not for them then it shouldn't decide if I date them or not.

Yeah, I think I could do that. I love books, but I also love movies and TV. They'd have to like at least one of those things lol.

I could date someone who didn't share my passion for it, I suppose, though certainly not the people who respond to avid readers with exclamations of "Man, why are you always reading? Stop and talk!". It would be a shame though, as most of the stimulating conversations i've had revolved around books and authors.

I think that I could as long as they understood my crazy obsession with books :D. Although I do agree that it is usually more interesting to talk with someone that also shares a love of books.

Read? Who cares? My hormones have just reassured my brain that any girl who looks alright, is alright.

We've got a party going on my "other forum" to celebrate my 1,000th post. It's a geek forum with techy posts only, so 1,000 posts means a lot. The party is spanning 3 threads. We've got booze, snacks, music, party-hats, and girls doing a striptease... (Why don't the Moderators put a stop to it? :D :D :D We are the Moderators!)

I have been dating my boyfriend for two years and while I can't read enough, it is not for him. He reads magazines about business but never novels. This does not bother me because he respects that I love to read and allows me to read while he watches dumb tv shows! In addition my best friend is a reader, she is the person I go to to share a book or discuss anything reading related. I get the best of both worlds!

Sure. As long as they cared enough to listen to me tell them about what I'm reading.

:D Interesting topic here. Good question though, I would say I wouldn't date anybody who doesn't read, but then its like saying would you date someone who doesn't like sports, in my eyes anyways. Like everybody I've been reading their post and I agree with them, having a conversation is a big thing. If a person does not read the conversation will be small. If there is a connection though that is something different. I guess I would be in the middle, its hard to decide that type of question. I would like that person to like to read if not a book but a newspaper. Again there are plenty of things out there that one can read, not just a book.
