Aloha,

I love Goodreads! I meet some great people from there. I do not list all books I have read for one reason. My books are my " precious. "
I will only show certain folks my library at home. I have issues. ??

Blessings?

I love using Goodreads. I keep track of all the books I have read and all the ones I want to read. The free giveaways are also really a cool feature, I have won a signed book from the author.

I love Goodreads. I also use it to keep track of the books I've read and want to read, although OBC also does that job for me. I'm not an active member as of late, but I've been a member for the past couple of years.

I like Goodreads to track the books I have read. I have read so many books I sometimes forget which ones I have read and which ones I still want to read.

I've used Goodreads for several years to keep track of the books I've read. Definitely yay for the bookshelves. I am new here on Online Book Club and plan to transfer my list of books over to this site. Next month will round out my 12-month goal to read and review 71 books.

I like Goodreads though I seldom use it. To me reading has been a solitary pursuit rather than something to be shared online. Though it does seem to me that younger readers who have embraced social media and seem to have a different concept of privacy to preceding generations are applying this to their reading. Increasingly reading is becoming a far more social passtime. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, particularly not when we have options of whether to paricipage and the extent of such participation.

I really only use it for keeping track of books I have read (which we can do on here with Bookshelves now!) and also for entering the giveaways. There are authors and publishers that will hold giveaways for books, and I've won several!

Freida Livery wrote:I've been pretty active on Goodreads. I basically use it to catalog my ever growing list of books. Plus I keep track of a few of my favorite author's blogs. I don't participate too much in the forums though. I personally think it has gotten too big.

I definitely agree! I like using Goodreads because it keeps track and syncs with the books I have read however I don't like that they will show you an author has released a new book. So say you have been waiting for a while on said particular book and you get all excited and giddy, try to purchase the book and see that you can only pre-order. Definitely not cool!

I don't really use it for the groups. In fact, I have never been overly active in the groups at all. I mostly use it for lists and as a book tracker.

I love Goodreads as a tracking app to see what I've read and I find it to be more user-friendly than this website for that purpose. But I really appreciate the forum on this site and I've never used the forum on Goodreads.

I am a member of Goodreads, but like you, not a very active one. I never really became involved in the groups, but I LOVE this community!

I don't use Goodreads as much now as I used to, mainly because I like the bookshelves on here better! I use Goodreads for a quick reference to look up a book, especially if I've forgotten the name of the author while at the library. They also have some pretty cool giveaways, and occasionally includes signed copies of books. I've won several on there, and found some good recommendations from others!

I love Goodreads, I love the treasure drove of different lists and the reviews that are made it more simple format as well, using gifs and other options.
