History Of The Kings Of Britian by Geoffery Of Monmouth. I read it a couple years ago but its a fascinating read so I read it again. Its fast paced and interesting even if it was mostly BS.

The last thing I read was “What Alice Gorgot” by Liane Moriarty. It definitely keeps your attention from beginning to end and has both humor and hardship. Great book.

The last that I read was 'The Deacon's Daughter' and I rated it 3 out 4 stars due to some errors in the book. It is a book describing in detail a rivalry between mother and daughter.

The Biblical Clock
by Daniel Friedmann and Dania Sheldon
My rating: 3 out of 4
It was enjoyable but felt more like Sci-Fi.

20 Years a Ghost Hunter by Elliott ODonnell Fascinating read, ODonnell tells of his early life and how he became involved in investigating haunted houses. He never claimed to have any psychic abilities, he just claimed he was drawn to ghosts and haunted houses. Some of his experiences are pretty scary, I got creeped out reading some of them. Interesting book, I give it 4 out of 5.

You always know exactly what you are going to get when you read Ruth Park, and Poor Man's Orange, the sequel to The Harp in the South, is no exception.

Full of charm, pathos, wit and humour, it is story-telling that captivates and warms the hearts of readers.

Poor Man's Orange moves beyond the Depression years and into the 1940s, although the setting remains the inner city slums of Surry Hills, Sydney, and the Irish immigrant family, the Darcys.

Life is always tough for the Darcys, but they struggle on, make the best of their lot in life, and generally maintain a positive outlook. Tragedy strikes the family, as one member passes on and another one joins. Others struggle to cope with this loss and the challenges the situation brings, but a deep and abiding love slowly but inexorably emerges from the pain and sorrow, which allows the novel to conclude on a hopeful note.

The delight in Park's writing is her ability to capture the sights, sounds, smells and persistent decay of Surry Hills. There are few new characters in this novel, but they are full of light and colour, well-drawn and completely fascinating.

Ruth Park is always a complete pleasure to read. 4 stars out of 5.
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.
