A very short little book. Have read topics about it before in other books. But, I did learned a new word and its meaning. Polygenism or polygenesis. Have been for years understood the terms of the meaning of the word without knowing the name of the meaning. Now I do.

It is a strange World War II book. Yes, Renia Spiegel is Jewish, but she never in her journal talked about being Jewish: other than being told she needed to show she was. Renia Spiegel is from Poland, but never talk about being Polish. Renia Spiegel was in a war zone, but she was really not interested in the war. In fact, she was apolitical about the war. She was a teenage girl talking about boys, saying she had a boyfriend, but even she thought he was not really interested in her as a girlfriend. She talked about her mother, she talked about being in school. She never really talk about the changes to become a woman. As far as I can tell, she died a virgin.

To be blunt, her journal was during World War II, but, it could have been a journal about Chicago during the 1950's or a journal about being in Atlanta during the 1960's. She was Jewish, she was from Poland, she was alive during World War II -- and she really did not have any interest with these subjects.

The last book I finished reading was Lost and love :Thailand (Book one in the lost and love series). I rated it 4 out of 4 stars.

It dealt with concepts of self-love, sexuality and so on. Was an amazing read!

The Elf Accord by Jordan David. It was a very interesting read about Santa Leopold's move from Austria to the North Pole and the coming of Santa's elves. It is the fourth book in The Magi Chater series. I rated it 3 out of 4 stars solely because it was in dire need of professional editing mainly due to the many malapropisms and sentence structure issues. Despite the errors and despite my not having read the previous books int he series, I found it to be was quite a riveting experience.

I read Captain Blood by Rafael Sabatini.I gave it 3/4. It's a classic you cannot fail with. Pirates, politics, romance!

Just finished “The Giver of Stars” by Jojo Moyes. While I wasn’t crazy about “Me Before You,” I consider Moyes a brilliant author after reading her latest novel. It just replaced “the nightingale” by Kristin Hannah as my favorite book. This book has all the things you could possibly want in a novel- strong (female) characters, historical setting, crystal-clear imagery, betrayal, triumph, joy, despair, hatred, love, heartbreak, friendship, brawls, birth, death, lovable animals, corruption, heroes, villains, humanity, as well as humor. Moyes intricately, and masterfully wove in so many character’s backstories, that I became attached to each one. Throughout the book I was in awe of Moyes ability to create such a riveting epic.
