I skim through the remainder of the book, and then I move on to the next one.

I must say I am the enduring type. I don't care how many the pages are or how boring the book is, I manage to finish it by the end. I hate it when I have to leave a book unfinished and then move to a new one. Starting a new journey without finishing one is a headache for me. I envy you all who can move on.

I will still read and maybe get interested, but if I'm not really be able to read it for other more reasons than being uninteresting, would still be with other books for the ones who will be interested. And it's my way of appreciating and giving respect to the author.

Mike, your avatar scared the hell out of me. Thanks.
LOL! YES! I have a hard time leaving books unfinished. But, I think I do have a self-help book lying around here that I've been "reading" for about 5 years now.
Another reason I read more than one book at a time. I'll just put the bad one down and get one I want to finish. Once iIve finished them all, then I torture myself with the one I dislike.

When a book is not interesting, I quickly shut it and pick a new one

I will give myself a challenge to finish. If the book is too boring to continue, I will throw it away.

I just stop. I have kindle unlimited, so I can download a lot off books for free. Why would I waste my time with something that doesn’t bring me joy? I probably skipped a lot of good books doing that, but it works for me.

I pretty much always persevere, unless it is particularly problematic. This has only happened a couple of times and I usually go back to it at a later date finding often that I am able to read it at a different stage in my life.

I always try to get through the first fourth of a book. If I struggle to stay engaged, I'll usually put it down and read something else, then come back to it and try again. If it doesn't work the second time, then I'm done.

It depends. If the book is lengthy I won't bother reading it again but if the pages are short I will read it to the end

I try to finish it, but there are times I just can't. Sometimes I think I have the attention span of a goldfish, but I try.
Reason I keep trying? Once upon a time, I read The Count of Monte Cristo, which I think had a pretty slow start.

Need I say more?
