Good question...hmm. I think I could but they must understand that books are my first love. Lol, was that cold?

Sure I can. But I would definitely need to date someone who I could talk to about these books that I like.

This is a good hypothetical, I do enjoy reading books and matching with someone who does is a bonus. But if they don't read books that's not a deal breaker to me

Yes, I don't see it as a problem. If their reason for not reading is shallowness and laziness, that's a different story. But I know a many people who have depth and educate themselves in other ways - this quality is ultimately what I look for.

I am married to someone who doesn't like to read. It doesn't affect our relationship as we all have different hobbies and interests.

I don't think I could because they will not understand me. I will feel like their inner world is not as colourful and interesting as mine. I don't know if I would be thrilled to talk to them, probably not.

It's possible as long as they understand my love for books and listen to me ramble on about them.

My partner does not read for fun. He does however understand my love of books and that it takes up much of my free time. It just gives him time to do his own thing as well!

I am already in a relationship with someone who doesn't like to read much. However, he gets interested when I talk to him about what I read, and he listens to me when I tell him everything about it. He is a smart man, but he has a lot on his mind that keeps him from having time to read. But I like to discuss with him everything and share my passion for reading, and he always makes time to listen to me and support me.

I would say that it doesn’t matter if the person I date reads books or not. I mean, why would it? Reading isn’t the only thing I do, so I doubt that that fact would hinder our conversations. Sure, it would be better if they read books, but it is in no way a requirement.

I'm lucky enough to be dating a man who loves to read :) I find it so attractive when my significant other reads a lot; to me, it shows that they are an intellectual and complex person. However, I don't think it's a requirement or a deal breaker for me. I understand not everyone will have the same interests as me and that's okay, but I would definitely prefer them to love reading as much as I do so we can talk about our favorite books and recommend them to each other.

It is a question I normally ask myself, I am fortunate enough that I´ve got friends with who I can discuss and chat for hours about books, I am also part of this community where we all share our love for books. For me, it wouldn´t be a deal breaker only and only if that other person respected my passion for books and understood that my reading time is special and personal

No. I can't date someone who, though can read, chooses not to read. Reading books exposes us to a lot of insights and grows our faculties and world view. And what discussion can I really have with someone who doesn't read!
