I have thought about and answered this question earlier but thinking again about it has provided me an insight. I found my relationship with the people I dated to be very shallow after a few weeks passed between us. If they wouldn't have broken up. I would have. Maybe if they would have read books and had some depth, my relationship with them would have been enriching and could have lasted longer. I don't want to blame them. I am just considering a possibility.

Haha, not sure. Though it would definitely be a no. If not fiction, I would like my partner to read something, maybe journals, blog articles, or newspapers. He needs to be definitely informed.

I believe humans are unique. You mustn't share all my ideals before I could fancy you. So yes, I can perfectly date someone who doesn't read

In my opinion, I can date that kind of person as it gives me a blank space to share my ideas with them. In a way, they may not read books but they do have experience from other sources. That to me, is an interesting exchange.

There are many different kinds of intelligencies and though I am an avid reader, to completely write off someone simply because they choose not to read seems awfully judgemental and short-sighted. Not everything can be encapsulated within the pages of a book.

I think I can simply because everyone has their differences, hobbies, and things they do for fun. But I would appreciate it if he would understand and support me just the same way I would support his hobbies and dreams.

I could never date someone who doesn't read. I didn't speak to a friend of mine for over a month because of a similar topic. Although I was quite busy.

Maybe. It all depends really on what is at stake. A relationship is based on mutual understanding. That means, accept me, as I am as I too will be your best friend. You may not always get what you want so we must be flexible when need arises. And if I love a person, I accept him as he is. Work on some modalities and adjust accordingly. For the record, it appears a great many people don’t read much, rather watch TV. I do both. Does that make me a bad date prospect 😉😉

I think that depends on their source of knowledge, some people don't read but listen and watch podcasts and shows for their own source of knowledge, I feel I don't really mind as long as we can hold meaningful conversations.

Well, for one, it all depends on what your context of read here is. Do you mean reading novels or reading in general?

If she doesn't find interest in reading novels then that won't be an issue. Not everything is for everyone. But if she can't read at all, then No. The goal is a wife that would educate my children.

I honestly, personally couldn’t. My husband thankfully is a reader.
