What is your perfect "reading set up?"

For example...I like to read a paperback, by lamplight, with a blanket and a lap pillow.
I prefer a gloomy day, a rainy day, or a snowy day view from the window.

What are your "Must Haves?" What makes reading "Perfect" for you?

Cant wait to hear your answers! :techie-studyinggray:

My perfect "reading set up" is much like yours. Some of my books are paperback and some are hardcover. I must admit that I like paperbacks more than hardcovers. The only difference with mine is I'd like to have a cup of hot chocolate with me if it's cold enough outside.

I don't mind paperback or hardcover! But I like to be curled up in bed with a hot chocolate next to me!

Almost the same, but I love natural light! Also, reading under the covers with a flashlight makes me feel nostalgic, so I do that sometimes.

Paperback or hardcover, doesn't matter as long as it is hard copy. It is chilly enough to be able to snuggle in a sweatshirt and a blanket on the couch, and I am reading by lamplight while it is dark and quiet in the house.

I love a hardcover book, a warm cup of tea or hot chocolate, and a really soft couch. I like having lots of pillows around me too. If I could pick the place I would say in a nice darkened library with a (safe and enclosed) fireplace nearby so I can get the smell too.

I have what we refer to as “the reading chair” it’s in front of some big windows so there’s lots of natural light, it’s comfy and my absolute favourite place to spend my time. It makes no difference to me if I’m holding a hardcover, paperback or a kindle as long as I have coffee or tea.

A rainy evening with a cup of coffee. As long as I have those two, other stuffs (chair, lighting, etc) just come second.

I really prefer to be curled up on the couch under a thick blanket on a rainy day. There would be a cup of coffee next to me, and the book would definitely be some kind of thriller. I haven't had this happen in a while now that I've got a toddler!

Uh, let's see..

Quiet(no kids or maniacally shouting adults). Doesn't really matter what's going on outside, as long as I'm curled comfortably on my bed or my couch with a pillow and a snack.

I like sitting outside on the porch swing on bright, sunny days. Living down south, it tends to get really hot so I take advantage of the cooler days by reading outside. I usually lay a thick blanket down on the swing and have a pillow behind my back so I can sit back and relax.

Light music, no other noise, no distractions from anyone. Amidst greenery when there is light breeze and leaves are rustling. Even if I can't find this ambiance, I particularly need a place that is quite.

I love reading in bed at night with some tea in my cup and the windows up so I can see the stars.

My ideal reading space would be a wide window seat with lots of cushioning and pillows and a fuzzy knit blanket. I would want to have a warm drink like apple cider with rain pouring outside but nice light from the outside to read by. Or maybe some fairy lights to create a warm ambiance.
Of course, I do not actually have a place like this 😂

My ideal place for reading is in my room, all comfy in my bed, in the wee hours of the night when everyone else is asleep and the place is quite. I find that I connect with the book more and I'm more likely to catch details in the book I would otherwise not have caught under any other conditions.
