Nope, it's definitely getting to be an older name now. But that's okay with me.

I've never even been able to find my name on a keychain, let alone in a book lol. I would love it if I did though.

Oh, right, those little trinkets they used to sell with boys' and girls' names on them.

I could never find Meg. There was Margaret, and Megan, but never Meg. :-)

Those with my name usually show up as ditzy girlfriends or cheerleader types. Yay. I should have been a Katherine.

The author of the Life With Father books, whose name was Clarence after his father, relates how horrified he was as a boy to discover that the characters named Clarence in the books for boys were always despicable goody-two-shoes.

My name is Elizabeth, so I tend to see my name in books quite a bit. Particularly historical fiction and non-fiction books.[/quote]

There's a wonderful Anne Tyler book where the heroine is a somewhat unconventional Elizabeth. Another character has a stroke, and after her stroke keeps asking for "Gillespie." Finally her family figure out that she wants Elizabeth to come.

There are only two fictional characters that I know of with my name.

One is a human rebel in a Tolkien book, and the other is a dragon-slayer in a YA fantasy. That second fact broke my heart when I was a little kid.

I've read at least two or three books with my name in it. It is a bit disorienting. :)

steinhm wrote:I have a few times, my name is Hannah, which is pretty common. But I have the say the eeriest and also kind of shocking one was a book I was reading about the holocaust, the main character had the same full name as me. It's not surprising because my name is a super common German surname, but still. I'm not Jewish, but it was kind of unsettling to read a book about someone going through the holocaust with the same full name as me.
I'm sure it was eerie! I have a special place in my heart for books regarding the Holocaust, do you remember which one was it?

I've only ever found one with my name, the Midnighters series by Scott Westerfeld. I remember being super excited about it because she was a main character, but also because her nickname was "queen b*tch" and I thought that was hilarious at the time :)

Same I haven't come across any Jennifer's or even Jenny's in any of the books I have read. Movie's yes, books nope. It kind of makes me sad. :(
