Yes. I feel empty, like I can't do anything at the moment. It's the worse. I also can't move on to the next book or series because I'll still be hung up over the current one I finished.

Yes, it does happen to me! Sometimes if something sad happens in the series, then when I finish it I still feel in shock from that sad event.

I cannot help but get emotionally attached to a book that I am reading. If I'm not getting attached to a book, then I don't like the book. I believe that an author should have a mission to connect to the readers. There has been a few books that I haven't had that emotional attachment with and still really enjoyed it. But these types of books would be more light and funny than a more deeper book.

I felt kind of empty after finishing the Reached trilogy! I definitely get that after a long series that I marathoned

It happened to me a little to many times now. I literally get a hangover when I finish a really good book. And I find it difficult to take up another one.

Absolutely. Especially if it is a good book/series you want to continue. It is one of the reasons why I tend not to pick up series that are not completed. It makes it so hard to just stop in the middle.

Yes! I've mentioned this before, but one time I refused to finish the book for a few weeks because I didn't want it to end. I wish I had written a list of all the books like these because unfortunately, I did not save all of them.

Yes, it does happens to me at times. To minimize the feeling of emptiness I pick up a new book and start reading, but I read few pages and do not bombard myself with a lot of reading.

Not at all, I don't have a feeling of emptiness but of fulfillment when I finishes reading a book. I am goal-oriented and feel accomplished after I follow through with my reading program.

After finishing a really good book, it often takes me a couple days to be able to jump into a new story or series. I feel like I need to properly digest what I read, or I just feel like nothing else could possibly measure up to how much I loved it.

Yes, it is a feeling of disappointment that a great story is over.

YES! I usually go in search of what else the author has written. Sometimes that helps. I agree with you PhormlessPhorm ~ reading IS an addiction.

Yes. I hate that feeling. But sometimes I think of it as a way to know that what you read was worth reading. I don't dwell on it for a long time though, as I know I'll find another great book and enjoy it as well.
