Do you get easily distracted when you read?

Only when I am tired, hungry, or uninterested in the topic. But if the story is that enticing, I won't get distracted until I have to use the restroom ha-ha! I usually get frustrated with myself if I am distracted or if someone is distracting me. I'm like can I please escape reality in peace.

If I don't like the book all that much, I can be distracted super easily. If I'm into the book, good luck getting my attention. I block everything out!

If I am into the story and the characters then I am in my own world and it takes a lot to get me out of it. If I am not interested in the book and have to read it for work or school then I can be distracted by anything.

I get very distracted very easily, unless it is when i am going to bed and it is quiet.

It honestly depends on the book. If I really am enjoying a book nothing can pull me away. But if I'm slightly half-hearted about it it can be hard not to get distracted.

If people are around me it's really hard to concentrate but if I'm alone not usually

I prefer reading alone so that I don't get distracted but I can handle some level of background noise. I don't mind hearing music without words or humming in the background, but if people are talking and I am able to understand every word they are saying, I can't concentrate at all. I don't mind chatter as long as I can't discern what is being said but if I can actually hear the conversation it gets very distracting.

I grew up in a small house and there was always noise, so I thrive on noise. When we moved to a larger house, I found myself doing my homework in front of the tv because I was used to the noise and the silence is what was distracting. I tend to tune everything else out unless it gets loud.

I prefer reading alone as well. I like to start out reading in silence and then once I get into the book I can handle noise and most of the time don't even notice it. I don't like when people try to talk to me or when I can hear the entire conversation because I am a little nosey and I will stop reading so I can follow along with what everyone is saying.

Definitely when I am not enjoying the book I am reading I am easily distracted by anything and everything! But when I'm so absorbed in a really good book... nothing can stop me from finishing it that moment!

It depends on why I'm reading the book--is it for class or pleasure?--and the topic. Nonfiction is harder to focus on than fiction, but even fiction can be dull if it's not original enough.

Only if the TV is on. Otherwise I will lose track of time while reading.
