Four Types of Literature: Which Are You

Post by Undertaker5squad »

My English teacher senior year once suggested that every person falls under one of the four types of literature: epic, comic, tragic, and lyric. Do you think this is true? And if you do, what type do you think you are?

I'm not sure if I agree with that but if I were to categorize myself, I'd say I'm a lyric. I love poems and as an emotional person, I think I'd fit in more into that.

Can I pick the grey area in the middle of those four? :) Because I really don't know what I would fall under as I think our choices vary with our moods.

I Ve found that I rarely fall into any one category, so I am not surprised that I do not fit into any of these four categories.
Maybe a mixture of epic, comic and lyric.

I have to agree. Those seem like very few and specific genres, but I would be a comedy.

Interesting idea to classify personalities in this way. I think I would be somewhere between epic (I'd love for my life to be huge and impactful, if only on a small scale) and lyric (nostalgia, idealism and romanticism all the way).

I would say Im most likely tragic. Comics don't interest and lyrisme just plainly bores me with it's excessive metaphors.

Pretty interesting to categorize people in this manner. I'm pretty sure all of us are a combination of all four, but I'm probably leaning towards epic myself
