I'm near sighted so I hold my books with both hands. That way it's easier for me to read and I'm also taking care of my books.

Normally two hands I just find it more comfortable. One hand is ok if it isn't for to long.

I do it with one hand most of the times and just keep the book on the pillow, lie down and read

Probably every way possible, but I prefer you lay one side on my bed and hold the other depending what page I'm on (left or right).

Bend the spine right back on itself to let plenty of light onto the pages. I like to be able to see what I'm reading.

I switch between two hands and one-handed, but I think I hold my books with two hands more often than not.

If I'm laying in bed I'm on my back or leaning back propped up against the headboard. In either position I have my book standing up on my belly, holding it with one hand or leaning it against my bent-up leg(s). On the couch, the same way. At my desk at work, I stand it up in front of me while I eat lunch. Basically as hands-free as possible.

In my left hand. Index finger on front cover, ring finger on back cover and middle finger on spine

This is an interesting question. I like to hold my paperbacks with the ends of the pages bent just a bit toward me. That way I can keep them looking new. It's unsightly, the look of a paperback that's been read over and over without care.

My hardback books I don't usually like to lay flat, not unless I know they're REALLY well made. Oh, and every book I have I like to clean with leather wipes, just the cover and the edges of the pages. Keeps them smelling like fresh parchment. My mom gave me the idea and I think it's great. Yeah, I really love my books...

I don't ever hold a book in one specific way. I like to move around with it a lot. I am very cautious of bending the spine though. It bothers me when that happens, I feel as though I have hurt it.

I read hardback books with both hands as a general rule. With paperbacks if they are 200 pages or less usually 1 handed with the other hand grabbing my coffee. If the paperbacks are bigger with both hands. Regarding the bindings, my paperbacks take a beating but the hardbacks are taken care of as a general rule. I try to keep my books nice.

i have two ways of reading also,

hardback: two hands, resting either on my stomach if I'm laid down, or if i'm sat, i cross my knee and rest it against my leg

paperback: i am not as bothered with paperback i try and buy my favourite books or the ones I end up enjoying in hardback so paperback i do bend backwards and just sit it on my lap!

I like reading paperback using just one hand to keep the book open and sitting up. With hardcover I usually put it on a table.
