Only once.

Other books I give away to second hand book shop - but one book I read was so terrible I didn't even want to do that with and just threw it in the bin.

Only once when I was given an old paperback which stank of cigarette smoke and beer and I realised the pages had seen more action than the storyline!

No, I haven't. If I didn't want a book anymore, I would donate it to either my church or to a bookstore. The only time I would throw away or recycle a book is if pages were missing and it was falling apart.

The only time I ever threw a book(s) away was because my sisters cat peed on them and they reeked and the pages were all discolored and wrinkly. They were my Twilight Series books and turns out my husband at the time boyfriend had the series so it was OK.

Yes. Sometimes you have to throw books away. I work at a library. One day we had the book drop locked. We attached a note telling patrons to hold on to the books and not to worry about late fines because of the hurricane on the way. Someone left their books outside the building next to the book drop. The books were destroyed by the weather. Funny, but true, one of the books that was blown across the lawn was "Gone With the Wind". We laughed about that one for quite a while!

I have thrown the odd book away, usually one given to me years before. I tend to dump them at the book bank.

Sadly yes, the only risen I did throw the book away was because it was missing some pages and I couldn't find them

I never throw a book away — I think I've only discarded a book maybe once my whole life, and that was when it was completely falling apart with no hope of repair. In that case I'll recycle it. Otherwise I'll try to donate it to the library or the local schools. Or sometimes I'll trade it with others!

Usually if I have a duplicate or one I didn't like I'll sell on ebay or give to charity, a coupe of kids books that were beyond repair may have gone in the bin.
