I had a dictionary once that was so used, it was falling apart and had no spine left. I think my mom threw it away when I wasn't home.

If it's destroyed, sure, otherwise it can be given away or something :)

Never, even if I absolutely hate what the books about I would never throw it away, it feels wrong like I'm kicking puppies or something. Usually I'll just donate it.

Not ever. I have never in my life thrown a book away. Even if the book is ruined I find a way to recycle it. And I have never thrown a book away because it is not interesting. If for some reason that I do not like the book, I do something useful with it. I have never hated a book, and I rarely get rid of books but if I hate so much it needs to get out of the house, I donate it or sell it. Never will I throw a book away!

My Dad throws away books after reading all of the time! It drives me crazy. I have always felt like books were a badge of honor. I proudly display the ones I love and donate/sell the ones that I bought and did not enjoy. My husband and I are very proud of our reading room With four book cases, five shelves each, filled with our favorite books and of course a very comfortable couch. :D

I have never thrown a book away. I have a hard time letting books go. If I do need to get rid of them, I donate them to a local bookstore.

I don't think I've ever thrown a book away. If I had one I didn't like I could use the pages for crafts. I can understand throwing it away if its beyond repair though. Thankfully I've never had a book get in such bad condition.

@Rachaelamb1 I told him on numerous occasions that he should at the very least leave it in the hotel room for someone to find. But he insists on ditching the book once he is finished. This of course is made worse since now he gets most of his books from the senior center. They have a take a book leave a book policy. Oy Vey.

I've only ever thrown one book away because my mom's dog got to it and ate it.

The Hobbit.
Taboo in many circles I know. But it was the third time I'd tried to read it and was about halfway through it and it was such a chore. I wanted so badly to fall in love with it the way so many have but I could not. And in my frustration. I threw it away.
