If the story is well written, the answer is yes. well-developed characters will be projecting all the emotions that we as readers feel. And should the story touch on old memories, again all those emotions come floodiNg back.

Yes it does. If I read a book that I really get into form the first line of the first page, the characters often become more real to me than the people I am with in the real world. When I'm reading a book that affects me so deeply, my husband often asks me what I'm laughing at or crying about. It's often very difficult to explain to him the context of my emotions. We both read very different types of literature, so he wouldn't necessarily understand why my emotions are affected by the characters in my books.

It's happened to me plenty times. In fact, I usually connect with at least one character in every story I read. I equally do so in life as well.

If the book is good, then definitely yes. I remember crying the whole evening when Dumbledore died (Harry Potter series).

Yes! But it is very rare for a book to bring strong emotions out in me.

Of course it does, especially if I feel deeply rooted or connected to the characters, I tend to care for them. I perhaps am too emotional in comparison to a normal person, but no shame!

Yes! There are times when I get so caught up with the characters, I tend to feel what they feel in the situations they go through

If a book is interesting to me I will become the character, I laugh out loud at the funny parts, bawl my eyes out at the heart breaking moments, and have a goofy smile on my face when something is completely going the way I wanted it to. At the end of the book or series its as if im saying goodbye to a friend, so yes reading brings out a lot of STRONG emotions that I arent my own.

Oh defiantly I find myself sat in Costa or relax (my fave coffee lounge) reading and I'll be grinning like an idiot reading a particularly heartwarming funny moment in a book or I'll be crying , I struggle to keep my emotions in check when I'm so completely engrossed in a book to me the characters become real and even when I'm not reading I find myself thinking about where the book is going to go next
