I think over my lifetime I have owned close to 500 books. I have had many friends borrow books that have never returned. when I have outgrown some books I have given them to those younger than myself, as well as given to charities along the way. I still own my all-time favourites which probably add up to about 100 or so.

No one would believe I am a reader if they were to see my bookshelf. It barely contains 10 books. I don't like to buy books cause once I read them they would just lie around and it seems like a lot of waste. So I prefer to read e-books.

I am working my way to a library. I probably have 500-600 books easily. There is something about a wall of books that just makes me feel happy :)

Even though I prefer the feel of a physical book, I read a lot of mine online. I buy my books second hand and still have about 50-60.

I have around 430 e-books on Kindle right now but have read a few. The ones in my physical library are not much. I developed an Excel sheet, sort of inventory, to keep track of them, but it's been ages since I last updated it.

DE Navarro wrote: 07 Aug 2021, 14:48 I own a little over 2500 physical books. I have them all organized in shelves, most in my office, many in my den, and the rest in the living room. I also own over 2000 digital books. I have about 67% literature, poetry, and non-fiction, and about 33% fiction, sci-fi, and fantasy. I don't just "read" my non-fiction books, I study them, I take notes on them, I re-read them, I catalog points for research, and I write research papers citing many of them. I'm certainly a book lover. I also have traded in or sold thousands of books that I no longer need to keep to read or study.
I definitely like the idea of cataloging important points and writing research papers citing them. It is worth borrowing.

It's such a great joy to me to "work" a book, to highlight important points and then to think and respond to the point with stuff I know from other studies, to take notes, and then to write essays about these things. I know this is not most people's idea of "fun" but it is actually one of the most enjoyable things I do. Thanks for reading and commenting. Good day to you Kibetious.

I have given all the books I have on hardcopies out and keep only the soft copies. Those ones of soft copies are quite many.
