Sometimes books make me feel this one, and when I do, it's amazing! I'm usually such a skeptic about love.
I recently read a book called The Woodlands that just made me cry. It wasn't just about romantic love, but also about love between friends/sister and mothers and their children. Beautiful.

When I really enjoy a book, I get completely sucked into the characters' emotional experiences, so yes, I am often profoundly affected by love stories.

Only if the characters remind my of my boyfriend and I, which isn't very often because I hardly ever find books with Homosexual leading men.
I did get a bit love sick while reading Brokeback Mountain because I understand the pain of living far away from your loved one. It would take me 24hours by commercial jet to see my bf.
So many books to read, so little time..

I've never really felt lovesick for characters falling in love... but in the past I have felt a little lovesick for the characters themselves sometimes. Oops.

Yes. A romance reminds me of how alone I am without a man...any other type of book keeps me occupied and distracted.

I have never felt love sick but I have read a book that completely broke my heart and led me crying for days afterwards. The book, Me Before You, absolutely wrecked me. I made my friends go with me to see it at the movie theater when it came out and we were all very puffy eyed afterward.

Yes. I'm jealous at how easily some characters find romance. It almost never happens like that in real life.

I can't even lie and say there hasn't been a time a book hasn't made me lovesick. It doesn't happen as much anymore, it might be because I don't read that many romance novels lately. The only two books that I remember vividly are Naughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman and Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. When I read them, the romance was enough to make me swoon and gush :lol2:

I don't think there's any good book that hasn't made me love-sick, at least to a certain extent. There's something so appealing about most romances, especially the old classics for me that it makes me really want something like that. But also I have the understanding that its just a book and my fantasies stay limited to the imagination. I can only hope that I have some of that excitement in my life as well and wait for it.

Lovesickness is just one of many emotions that books made me feel. I loved Tris' relationship with Tobias, but I could create a very long list of couples who made me feel the same way. Just a few examples: Ruby Red trilogy's Gwen and Gideon, Katy and Daemon from the Lux series, Xera and Sayon from a Hungarian author's book titled as Varázscsók (Magickiss - not official translation). Beside lovesickness, I think it is natural to be affected emotionally by a book. I can go even further. If the author can't move the reader in some way, in any way then the story or the characters are not good enough.

I'm single right now and know I'm at my best, but some romance books really try me :)). But in all seriousness, a good romance can absolutely make you crave something similar for yourself.

Also just because I associated the characters with their movie castings and I love Chris Hemsworth and Josh Hutchinson
Great example! Yes to these examples. Redeeming Love got to me also.

I used to get really invested in couples of well-written romance books because I am a romantic at heart. I think about the couple's relationship for a few days after finishing a book until reality kicks in. Then, I remember that love like that is almost non-existent. It doesn't happen as much anymore, because I don't read romance as much.
