I don't. I don't even eat or drink while I'm reading cause it makes me lose the flow of thought and focus. Then I keep reading the same para again and again.

Not usually, sometimes if I can’t pay attention to the book because the television is on then i put music on to drown that out.

This might sound weird, but I like listening to rap while reading. It doesn’t distract me or cause me to lose focus.

I can go without it but for the most part I do ! When I'm listening to music while I read, I tend to lean towards listening to something that's calm, as opposed to what I typically listen to when I'm listening while doing something else

In the times I needed a background music, I use only non-lyric musics.

Do not listen to music at the same time as reading it would bother me and get in the way of the story being in my head

I will listen to music if I'm reading in public, or if children are still up at home. Otherwise, no music. Also, no words in the music, only classic easy going music.

I need to be in relative silence to read, same whenever I need to write (even if is just an email). I think it's because I do quite active listening in the music and get distracted easily.

Sometimes. Depends on where I am. Outside of my home yes, I usually do.

Yes, depending on what I'm reading and what mood I'm in.

If the book has a playlist I'll throw that on.

If I'm reading horror I will play horror synthwave music. For drama/romance, I'll throw on some lo-fi beats.

After a long day of work and speaking too way too many people, I'll read in dead silence just to feel at peace.

This question made me stop and think. However, upon reflection, I must conclude that I prefer silence when reading. The only music I would be able to tolerate would be ambient background music : )

I'll listen to lo-fi beats while I read to set the mood, but I agree that I can't eat or drink while I read because I find it hard to focus on the story.

I haven't tried listening to music while reading. I think not listening is better for me bcz I can't concentrate on the reading. So I don't prefere listening to music while reading. But I would try to see just for experience.
