No, I don't like to listen to music while I read. I enjoy quiet environment so I can entirely get into the reading.

Yes, I enjoy listening to music while I read. It helps create a pleasant and immersive environment, allowing me to fully engage with the text and enhance my reading experience. Different genres of music can set different moods and complement the content of the book. Overall, music adds an extra layer of enjoyment and helps me stay focused while reading.

I cannot read or write with music on. It would distract me. It amazes me to know that many fellow reader here like to have some sort of music on. My daughter's too feel they can concentrate better on their academic book better with music on.

I do not listen to music while reading a book because I cannot concentrate on a book if there is music in the background.

Yes, I prefer instrumental music as a background noise because when I'm reading something in Spanish and the music is in Spanish, I'll start singing and my concentration on the book goes out the window. Same thing happens when I'm reading something in English with lyrics in English, although, I don't have that problem with music in other languages, until a song I really like comes up and...I start singing! Instrumental music for me please.

Sometimes I start out that way then as the hours go by I find I've turned the volume all the way down.

No, I prefer no music. I’m usually reading while my kids are playing or my husband is watching tv, so it’s not silent but music would be to overstimulating.

No, when reading I prefer a silent environment so that I can focus well on the book that I'm reading. The only music I would tolerate is the flow of the book in my head and mind.

I listen to music while I write, though I'm only able to listen to songs without words. Because of that, I prefer classical/environmental music with themes that change depending on what I write.

Some say that music improves concentration and focus, But I always get distracted by music while reading. It hampers my concentration. Therefore, I don’t listen to music while reading. I like a calm, peaceful environment.

While reading, I put on one of those Youtube ambient music channels. Currently, I have Christmas coffee shop jazz playing!
