Mine, I would probably kick them..
Theirs, I don't mind
Yes. I probably wouldn't mind if it theirs. But even if it's mine, I will still not mind if they write something amazing. But the chances I will find it amazing are low.

If the book is for learning and research, I would always take notes in the book. Of course I only did this if it were a book I intended to keep for myself that I might want to go back and review again in the future. As for books just to enjoy, I wouldn’t want someone to write in them.

If it's their personal book then I would mind my own business, but if it's a book that belongs to me or the library, I would tell them to stop.

They can do whatever theg want with their personal property, if if it's a school book, or a borrowed one, I think it's a very rude thing to do.

In that case, I would mind my own business. I’d never write in my own books but they’re nit hurting anyone and they can do what they like with their own books.

If it isn't my book or public property, I'd shut up and just cringe inside. At the same time: there are fascinating scribbles from famous people in books which I love to read about as you learn more about their thought process. I guess I have double standards about book scribbling then! And here I was thinking I was an okay person because I had 0 double standards :snooty:

All right then, if a fascinating person scribbles interesting thoughts in a book, I'm fine with it no matter to whom that book belongs (yes, even if it's mine), other than that I don't find it acceptable behaviour :? :eusa-think:

Here are some interesting links about this (well not about the me not minding part, but about famous and not famous scribbles):

I would judge the person a little for damaging the book. I would move on quickly if it its not my property. If it's my book then it's a whole new argument to make.

I really don't care whatever a person does to his/her book so far it's not mine. Because I know for sure that I can't write on my book. I mean, why should I?

Encouraging, asking about their writing, and what inspired them to write it if they're comfortable.

I hope its a toddler because if it's an adult I would be livid. Anyone who cannot take care of a book cannot take care of me. I mean really ... Who writes on an already written book :no-spoil:

would let them write away. It's their book - they should be able to enjoy it however they like. There is nothing wrong with writing or highlighting in à book as far as I'm concerned.
