Probably. I wouldn't give it more than a few pages, however, to "bring me in." If it doesn't, I will stop.

I think it would depend on whether I found the plot interesting or not however I would definitely question the book if someone random recommended it to me.

Nope. I may look it up, but generally speaking, unless the person knows me well & can say "I just know you would love this book, it's exactly what you would go for." I just stick to my own book selecting.

I kind of do that all of the time. I will take any and all suggestions to read books. I also always read reviews listed on Barnes and Noble by people I don't know and I use them to help me decide if I want to read the book or not.

I have read many books that were recommended by what someone random said, but I stick to the genre I am most interested in.

I don't know I guess it depends on the genre of the book.

Most likely. In my line of work, that's pretty much how I get all my book suggestions, so I'd definitely give the book a shot at least.

No, not usually -- unless several random people recommended it! I have eclectic tastes and pick up many second-hand books when the opportunity strikes, based on whatever interests me most at the moment. So I always have a huge supply of unread books at home to choose from, again based on my mood. But if a book gets many good reviews AND a few bookworm friends rave about it, I'll search it out or it will move up my priority list.

Perhaps if enough people said it was good and it was something I was interested in.

Absolutely, I am always in the market for good reads and sometimes the recommended book is wonderful sometimes not but I love getting engrossed in stories and can never find enough books to read. so I am definitely open to reading books that are recommended from somebody.

Yes! That's exactly how I found The Hunger Games. Then I had to wait for the rest of the trilogy! But it was worth it.

it depends on the person who's saying it. If its a person who enjoys same books as me then I would surely check it out but if the person likes different genre of books i'll let it pass.

Before I read a book, I would look for reviews first. If most reviews says that it was good then I would read it. If I liked the cover, title and blurb of the book but the reviews aren't that good I would set it aside and read it for next time.
